Melle Mel, an icon in the hip-hop realm, was far from pleased when Eminem secured the fifth spot on Billboard’s list of all-time greatest rappers.

“If Eminem was just another ngga like all the rest of us, would he be top five on that list, when a ngga that can rhyme just as good as him is 35,” Melle said. “If he was a Black rapper, he wouldn’t even make the list, probably.”

In classic hip-hop fashion, Eminem responded to that on “The Realest.”

“Shoutout to Furious Five and Grandmaster Flash, but boy/ There’s someone who really is furious/ Stay out his path, his wrath avoid/ I’ll be the last to toy with a juice head whose brain is half destroyed, like a meteor hit it/ Now with Melle Mel, he lost his ass to ‘roids.

Melle Mel is set to prolong the lyrical clash, the battleground being none other than the wax itself. A sneak peek of his riposte to Eminem’s verbal jabs is on the horizon.

“No apologies, this ain’t a disclaimer/ I’m the king of legend, the first hall of famer/ Makin’ diss tracks, I know you with that/ Now everybody get ready for the kickback,” he raps. “Why you hurt?”
