Fat Joe revealed during an interview that he once faked getting broke in order to test the loyalty of his friends.  

In his words, Fat Joe said “So I started out with rapping. I made my first millions of Dollars, I never thought I would make millions of Dollars. I would have 50 guys with me we all had the same Cadillac truck. 

“If you had case everybody go to jail and I bail them out, I paid for the lawyer out this this this this that. One time I sat all 50 of them together. We was at the Ritz-Carlton in Porto Rico, we flew there on private planes. I am the only one with money so I am sitting there one day I can’t sleep.” 

Fat Joe continued, “I said you know what call everybody. So I all 50 of the guys come and I said yo listen man. I think the same I got it and I had it right but I was checking out of the 50 guys that was there. Only six of them said yo if you dead broke I’ll be with you man. No matter what every day. Those are six guys that are still with me now. So God put that in my head and say you try these dudes man see if they really with you.”

After A Miami Hip-Hop Altercation, Uncle Luke And Fat Joe Exchange Flowers 

After a brief social media argument regarding the beginnings of the careers of Miami rapper Pitbull and Trick Daddy, Fat Joe and Uncle Luke have made amendments.

On Friday, December 8, Luke welcomed Fat Joe during an Instagram Live session in which the Terror Squad leader explained a statement he had made on the role he played in signing both musicians to their respective record deals.

Luke shared the original remarks he made on My Expert Opinion Podcast on Instagram along with a statement disputing what Fat Joe claimed.

“I love Joe but I find this very interesting because I discovered @trickdaddydollars he did his first song with me as soon as got of the lock up and he stayed with me, l also discovered signed @pitbull to the platinum selling Luke records label he did his first song’s with me.”

“Maybe I’m missing something here I do have the receipts,” the Miami legend added. “By the way because you don’t see all the videos at the birthday partys. @DjKhaled I found him on underground radio mix 96 brought him to main stream. radio @99jamzmiami The Luke show.”

Before expounding on the interview comments. Fat Joe kicked off the Live conversation by giving Uncle Luke some flowers. “Like I told you luke is an icon, living legend,” Joe said. “He created the sound of Miami. He put everybody on.”

He recounted how he first came to know of Trick Daddy during a trip to Miami for Super Bowl thirty three in 1999.

“Trick Daddy shit was playing all over the Carol Mart, all over the parties,” Fat Joe explained. “I went back to New York, I sat in the office with Craig Kallman, who’s still the boss of Atlantic. I don’t fuck with him no more, but I took the demo of Trick Daddy, I put it on his desk and said, “You need to sign this girl guy, he’s the next guy.”

He continued, “I know you discovered Trick Daddy, you discovered Pitbull. I never said I discovered them, Luke. I took his demo, out of love for HipHop. And Craig Kallman called me two days later and said, ‘I signed the guy Trick from Miami.’

Similarly, Fat Joe stated that he introduced Pitbull’s music to TVT records founder Steve Gottlieb and the label’s VP of A&R, Brian Leach, after his own success had the label searching for a Hispanic artist.

“I wanted a Cuban artist because I was from Miami,” Luke told his followers after Fat Joe left the live, “I told Jullian Boothe, he was my A&R guy, Big Teach, Jeff Sanchez, ‘We need to find a Cuban artist. I don’t give a fuck what y’all do. Go find me a God Damn Cuban artist because I will not be complete in Miami unless I have a Cuban artist. Them dudes got Big Pun and Fat Joe ouuta New York, we gotta compete.”

However, Fat Joe took a chance during his recent appearance on The Shop: Uninterrupted. Along with guests Don Lemon and Amy Schumer, as well as the show’s writers, the rapper paid a visit to the HBO series. Joe isn’t afraid to express himself, so he was asked who he believed were the greatest of the artists he’s seen in the studio.

“I don’t want nobody to kill me, but the best…Lil Wayne,” he stated without hesitation. “Wayne taught me so, what happens is, Lil Wayne took up from where Tupac was, he was putting out two albums a year. This guy was never in the club, he was the No. 1 artist in the world.”

“He was just in that studio, in that hit factory, in that studio,” Joe added. “So, I was privy to being there with Wayne ’cause I live in Miami and this guy, he would just get a beat, and the guy starts sparing with the speaker.” It was something the Bronx rapper had never seen before. Someone asked him to explain what that meant.

“He’s in a little room and there’s big, giant speakers, and he’s just there like, staring at the speaker,” Joe stated. “He goes in the booth, ‘I am a beast, feed me Hip Hop, feed me…’ I was like holy f*ck. This guy took the record. He’s a beast!”

Fat Joe is bringing his talk show to Starz, where he says it will air every Sunday after BMF and Power in a primetime slot. Joe joins 50 Cent as the only rappers who have partnered with the network to produce shows.

During an appearance on Math Hoffa’s My Expert Opinion, Joe revealed the future of his talk program.

“Eventually, after every Sunday after you watch BMF and Power, you’re going to see his show on STARZ network,” Joe said.

He added: “It was a lot of channels trying to get this shit. Puff is my partner, and we chose there because it’s primetime every Sunday, and I can’t tell you no more. I already broke the news. Nobody ever heard that.”

The Show’s original run is accessible on Revolt, and it showcases the legendary New York rapper talking pop culture, sports, politics, and more with a diverse group of guests. Dwyane Wade, Nick Cannon, Big Sean, and Shaq were among those that participated on the show during its inaugural season.

6ix9ine and Fat Joes sat down to have a discussion, four ago. Tekashi paid a visit to Joe on his podcast, and the rap veteran tried to impart some street wisdom to the viral rapper. At the time, 6ix9ine was in the middle of one of his many ongoing feuds with his peers and was hanging out with the Nine Trey crew. However, Fat Joe warned him to keep his nose clean or he’d end up in major legal problems since the police are always on the lookout.

Joe continued to criticize 6ix9ine since then, not just because of Tekashi’s legal difficulties and snitching incident, but also because he insulted deceased musicians. During Fat Joe’s appearance with Math Hoffa, the matter was brought up, and the New York hitmaker stated why he doesn’t want to work with 6ix9ine.

“I’mma just be honest with you… This n*gga’s a sucka,” said Joe. “He’s a p*ssy, he’s a sucka, a b*tch. [And] I ain’t drink. I’m dead serious.”

“This type of sh*t this n*gga doin’, I’m convinced he wanna die,” Joe continued. “I don’t wish it on him or nothin’ like that, but I’m convinced he’s miserable in his body. “Fat Joe is jealous of 69. 69 has done more in his young career than Fat Joe has ever done in his long career… Fat Joe said I was miserable and want to die? Fat Joe is miserable and wants to die because Fat Joe doesn’t have half of what 69 has in money and cars. Fat Joe said I’m not a gangster, it was all for promotion? That’s fake news. What’s his proof that I ever said that? There is no proof. He’s lying.”
