Kendrick Lamar Debuts At Number One On The R&B Charts For The First Time

Kendrick Lamar is one of the most successful artists in the world, as seen by Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ first-week sales figures. In his first week, he sold about 300,000 units and even reached the top of the Billboard charts. He will undoubtedly remain at the top of the charts for weeks to come, and as it turns out, he is making an impact on genres other than hip-hop.

Kendrick Lamar and his song “Die Hard” will be at the top of the R&B charts this week, according to Billboard. When you consider that Kendrick has never been this high on the R&B Charts before, this is a huge accomplishment. It only goes to show that Kendrick is a versatile artist capable of accomplishing anything he sets his mind to.

This song appears in the first half of the album and features Blxst and Amanda Reifer as guests. Fans flocked to this song as soon as it came out, so it’s no surprise that it’s reached this peak on the charts. Only time will tell how long it will remain at the top.

Kendrick Lamar Picks First Single In Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’

Kendrick Lamar marked his return with Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers which was out a week ago today. With the highest sales week of the year, the album is already on track to debut at the top of the Billboard 200. Fans are still deconstructing the album and the varied meanings they find in individual tracks.

The album plays in the manner of a therapy session. While conceptual, there are some big records that will undoubtedly be getting played for months.

K.Dot and his label officially chose the first song from the album this week, and it may cause even more controversy for the Compton rapper. “Silent Hill” feat. Kodak Black will be on radio rotation on May 31st, according to Hip-Hop-N-More. The song has already gained traction on YouTube and TikTok. It will certainly become an unavoidable summer song once it gets to radio.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers include a lot of Kodak Black. He sings the beginning to “Worldwide Steppers” and “Rich (Interlude)” in addition to appearing on “Silent Hill.” Kendrick’s decision drew some criticism, but it doesn’t seem to be bothering him right now.

Joe Budden Admits To Being “Jealous” Of Kendrick Lamar’s Indepe

Joe Budden says he’s “jealous” of Kendrick Lamar’s liberty gained by shifting to his own label ahead of the release of Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, his highly anticipated fifth studio album.

“I am so fucking jealous of how he’s able to do that,” After reading a post on Lamar’s website, Budden noted during the segment. “In his own way, just quietly, ain’t said a peep for years.”

When another host expresses interest in the new album,  Budden responds, “As a music lover, you’re excited, and part of why you’re excited is part of why I’m jealous: You have no idea what he’s talking about. We don’t know what he’s talking about. We don’t know what mood he’s in. We don’t know how he’s on.”

Last year, Lamar stated that Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers will be his final TDE album in a post on his website, oklama.com.

“As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years,” he stated. “The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.”

Budden’s remarks follow the release of “The Heart Part 5.” Lamar’s first single since 2018. However, Lamar transforms his face into Kanye West, Nipsey Hussle, Will Smith, Kobe Bryant, OJ Simpson, and Jussie Smollett in the music video for the song.

Kendrick Lamar Accused Of Copying “The Heart Part 5” By AK

Kendrick Lamar accused of taking the premise for his new music video, “The Heart Part 5,” from New Jersey rapper AK’s 2020 song, “Family Tree.” However both videos feature the singer rapping in front of the camera as their face transforms into various superstars.

Cole, Nas, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, JAY-Z, and even Kendrick Lamar all appear in AK’s video. The video uploaded to YouTube in September 2020 has received over 600,000 views.

“Kendrick Lamar’s new music video is an exact copy of my video from 2020 of my song ‘Family Tree,’” In a video on social media, AK stated.

He added: “Maybe I’m fooling myself for thinking that Kendrick saw my video and was like, ‘Damn, that’s so good that I want to do it myself.’ But I was under Universal; he is under Universal. I did that video in 2020 with Universal. Obviously, the song didn’t do as good as if Kendrick was to do it, but the concept was so sick and I fucking don’t know, but it’s the same exact thing — it’s a backdrop, it’s him in front of it, it’s one take.”

On Sunday night, Lamar released the video for “The Heart Part 5.” Which he and his pgLang co-founder Dave Free directed. However, Lamar transforms into Kanye West, Nipsey Hussle, Will Smith, Kobe Bryant, OJ Simpson, and Jussie Smollett on the single.

Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, Lamar’s long-awaited fifth studio album, will be out in few days. However, the anticipated double album is set to drop on Friday, May 13.
