The Game Is Disappointed With Nike For Suspending Kyrie Irving’s Shoe Deal

The Game defended Kyrie Irving and criticized Nike for terminating their partnership with the Brooklyn Nets star.

Nike cut ties with Kyrie Irving on Friday (November 4), following a contentious tweet in which he advocated for a book and movie that contained some antisemitic language and sentiments. The upcoming November 8 release of the Kyrie 8 shoe was postponed by the company as soon as Nike’s suspension went into effect.

“At Nike, we believe there is no place for hate speech and we condemn any form of antisemitism,” read a statement released from the company. “We are deeply saddened and disappointed by the situation and its impact on everyone.”

In response to a post about the announcement made on The Shade Room’s Instagram account, The Game expressed his disagreement with the choice.

“Juice you for all your BLACKNESS, use you to sell everything they got then publicly LYNCH you,” he wrote. “I’m woke.”

In addition, other members of the Hip Hop scene commented, with Waka Flocka mentioning Ice Cube and his Big 3 Basketball league. Ben Baller, a well-known jeweler, went a little further

“At some point in our time there has to be a punishment maximum that cannot be exceeded for a hate crime of any kind,” he commented. “I get it. He f*cked up… so what’s fair? Strip him dead?”

Nike made its decision a day after the Brooklyn Nets announced that Kyrie Irving had been suspended for five games without pay.
