Jeezy Meets Former President Barack Obama For The First Time
Jeezy has often expressed his admiration for former President Barack Obama. The classic mega single “My President,” from his third studio album The Recession, was released in 2008 as a tribute to Obama winning his first term. Nas is featured in the song, which was created the day Barack Obama won the Democratic presidential nomination.
Jeezy finally got to meet his beloved president at a Democratic gathering where Obama was a guest speaker at the Gateway Center last week. Before taking a photo with Obama, the “Seen It All” rapper uploaded a video of themselves shaking hands. “If this doesn’t inspire you, nothing will” #SNOFALL, he said in the caption of the stirring video.
Although this was Jeezy’s first encounter with the former president in person, he had previously been invited to hang out with Obama. He admitted to Hip Hop DX in 2019 that the secret service had turned him down from attending an Obama dinner in New York City. “I was meant to attend a dinner in New York, but when I got there, the Secret Service wouldn’t let me in. They said I was still under investigation and reportedly because of my track record.”
The 44th President of the United States offered the Snow Man love despite being unable to attend the meal. Obama stated at his Correspondents Association Dinner in 2012, “In my first term, I sang Al Green; in my second term, I’m going with Young Jeezy,” just before securing yet another victory for his second term.
