Bonds, speaking candidly in a recent social media video, recounted his reasons for intervening, stating,

“There comes a time where you’re in a seemingly good situation, but if you’re not waking up happy… or if you really don’t want to be around that person, you’ll find every excuse to get out of there. And I got diabetes, so my excuse was I can’t be with you every day… in reality, I was sick. I was sick of everything going on around you.”

He continued,

“I was sick of having to cover up everything that you did. Cassie spoke on it, she said, ‘Yeah, I jumped in between it.’ That wasn’t the only time; there were other times and other people.”

Though Bonds didn’t directly name his ex-boss, his mention of Cassie clarifies the context. In her lawsuit against Sean ‘Diddy’, Cassie, whose real name is Cassandra Ventura, accused him of assaulting and raping her during their decade-long relationship. Bonds, Diddy’s head of security at the time, allegedly stopped an attack on Cassie back in 2009.
