Despite prosecutors pushing for a year and a day in prison, the judge opted for probation, emphasizing its seriousness while safeguarding the public. Alongside probation, G Herbo must pay $139,968 each in restitution and forfeiture, plus a $5,500 fine, building on a prior $140,000 payment. The sentencing memo revealed that the judge believes probation aligns with the circumstances of the case.
Initially charged in late 2020, the federal fraud case accused Herbo, his music promoter, and crew members of using stolen identities for over a million dollars’ worth of services. The 28-year-old rapper pleaded guilty in the summer of 2023, expressing confidence that his associates wouldn’t betray him.
In an Instagram Stories post, he cryptically hinted at loyalty, taking a swipe at those who cooperate with authorities. “I know foenemmm wont tell on me like n-ggazzz told on Thug,” he shared.
