Tame One, Of The Artifacts, Dies At The Age Of 52
Tame One, a founding member of the hip-hop group Artifacts from New Jersey, died at the age of 52. The cause of death is still unknown. Rah Digga, who expressed her condolences, and posted an emotional tribute to him on Instagram, confirmed his passing.

The Artifacts were DJ Kaos, El Da Sensei, and Tame One, all of Newark, New Jersey.
On October 25, 1994, the Artifacts—also known as “The Brick City Kids”—released their debut record, Between a Rock and a Hard Place. The project received high praise from critics for its B-boy and graffiti themes, and T-Ray of the Soul Assassins crew and Buckwild of D.I.T.C. produced the album. The group disbanded shortly after the release of ‘That’s Them’, their sophomore album, on April 15, 1997.
Tame One, together with Cage Kennylz, Masai Bey, Aesop Rock, Yak Ballz, El-P, Jakki Tha Motamouth, Camu Tao, Copywrite, Vast Aire, and Breeze Brewin, established a ‘super producers’ collectively known as The Weathermen in 1998.
The soloist, who is also Redman’s first cousin, has released solo albums, three mixtapes, and three collaborations, including one with Del The Funky Homosapien and Cage as Leak Bros (Waterworld), one with Dro Pesci and Nick Jackelson on The Revolution, and one with former labelmate Cage as Leak Bros.
