Willow Smith Receives RIAA’s First-Ever NFT Plaque, Making History!

Willow Smith has shattered records and made history by becoming the first artist to be awarded an NFT plaque by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). This remarkable achievement is in recognition of Willow’s sensational breakout single, “Whip My Hair,” reaching an impressive 3x platinum status. Additionally, her hits “Wait A Minute!” and “Meet Me At Our Spot” achieved 2x platinum, while her collaboration with Travis Barker on “Transparent Soul” earned platinum status. The captivating artwork on the plaque was commissioned by Willow in collaboration with her label, Roc Nation, and the visionary minds at Infinite Objects.

Expressing her gratitude, Willow Smith conveyed, “I am beyond grateful to have the opportunity to engage in the sacred process that is music.” She added, “BIG LOVE to RIAA and Infinite Objects! I am so honored to be able to celebrate these milestones in such an innovative way.” The innovative Infinite Objects Video Print display will automatically update the artwork to reflect Willow’s latest certifications as determined by the RIAA.

Despite the swirling controversy surrounding her father, Will Smith, and his unforgettable Oscars incident in 2022, Willow remained focused and resilient. In an exclusive interview with Billboard discussing her album, Coping Mechanism, Willow addressed the scandal, emphasizing the human nature of her family. She expressed her love and acceptance, acknowledging that everyone makes mistakes. Despite external pressures, Willow’s artistic journey remained untouched by the turmoil, as she continued to channel her creativity and conquer her personal battles.
