Zendaya Talks About Why She’ll Never Be A Pop Star

Zendaya may only be in her twenties, but she’s already spent a significant portion of her life in the spotlight. From child television star to one of the industry’s most sought-after entertainers, the award-winning actress’s celebrity grows with each passing year. There was a time when Zendaya was focused on her music career and even signed a deal with Hollywood Records. She has only released one studio album but has shared almost a dozen singles, collaborating with artists like Chris Brown, Bella Thorne, and Zac Efron.

Andrew Garfield and the Spider-Man star spoke one-on-one with Variety, and she admitted that she purposefully chose to shift her primary focus to acting because it provided “a level of anonymity” that music did not.

I was talking to [Euphoria creator Sam Levinson] about this earlier.
