Nick Cannon Reacts Heartbreakingly To The Death Of Five Month Old Son

For Nick Cannon every parent’s worst nightmare recently became a reality. The comedian lost his son Zen, only five months old, after he died of a brain disorder. Nick tells ‘People’ about this heavy loss.

“I wish I could have spent more time with him”

“My heart is in pieces,” says Nick. “I wish I could have spent more time with him, cuddled him longer.” After this sad event, Nick and his partner Alyssa try to remember the good times they had with their son. “It was a great honor for me to be his father.”

Two months after the birth of their son Zen, Nick and Alyssa found out that he had a serious brain condition. They had conversations about ‘quality of life’. “In one of the scenarios, Zen would have stayed in the hospital, with all kinds of devices around him. I have undergone chemotherapy myself and I know how much pain that entails. I wanted a child of (then, ed.) two months old. I didn’t want him to suffer.”
