On the Basketball Court, Wiz Khalifa Shows His Son No Mercy
Even when facing his own child as an opponent, Wiz Khalifa doesn’t back down on the basketball court.
The Pittsburg native is pictured playing hoops with his son Sebastian and another kid on Twitter, and he is easily dominating the game.
During the 1-on-2 pickup game, Wiz is heard taunting the kids saying, “Got ’em” and “Ya’ll don’t want none.”
In the caption of video, Wiz wrote, “No I aint taking easy on them. Kids be talking shit.”
One Twitter user expressed displeasure with Wiz’s method of coaching his son in basketball by tweeting, “I hope wiz let him score a point,” and including a sobbing emoji.
In the same spirit of competition, Wiz said he would be willing to compete against Lil Wayne in a Verzuz match.
Last month (December 22), when Wiz stopped by Sirus XM to speak with DJ Superstar Jay on Shade 45, he indicated that Wayne would make the perfect opponent for a Verzuz clash but that the fight would more closely resemble a concert for their passionate followers.
“I think that would be fun, yeah. Because Wayne is a really dope performer,” Wiz explained. “Me and him going back and forth performing bangers? That shit’d be hard! And we’d both smoke hella weed. I think that would be more of a concert than a Verzuz.”
The Taylor Gang rapper was producing a significant amount of music in 2022 when he wasn’t berating his son on the basketball court. He debuted a collaboration with Harlem native Neek Bucks on December 26, put out his seventh studio album Multiverse, and issued two joint ventures with Curren$y and Big K.R.I.T., Full Court Press and Stoner’s Night.
In the upcoming movie Spinning Gold, Wiz played George Clinton, making his long-awaited comeback to the big screen.
The movie follows the highs and lows of Casablanca Records and the life of Neil Bogart, the label’s original song producer.
According to Timothy Scott Bogart, son of actor Neil Bogart, “Spinning Gold is about a group of people who, once at a time, lived a fairytale and made their dreams come true, all set to some of the best music ever released on vinyl.”
Jason Derulo portrays Ron Isley of The Isley Brothers, while Tayla Parx portrays Donna Summer, and Ledisi plays Gladys Knight in the Wiz movie.
The film’s writing and directing are by Timothy Scott Bogart
