The driver completed the delivery by placing the bagged food on the apartment’s stoop and taking a photo for proof of delivery using the DoorDash app. However, what happened next was truly revolting. The driver was caught on camera spitting on the bag not once, but three times, all while muttering something inaudible under his breath. The entire incident was captured in real-time through the live video feed, leaving a 13-year-old boy and his mother, who had placed the order, utterly disgusted.

Elias Crisanto, the 13-year-old, recounted his reaction, saying, “My reaction was I wanted to throw up. It’s so disgusting. I mean, who does that?” The order had cost them around $30, and they had added a $3 tip. It seems that the driver was displeased with the tip amount and decided to resort to this unsanitary act as a form of punishment.

Crisanto immediately sent the recording to DoorDash and requested a refund. However, he was initially denied until he got in touch with a customer service representative. In an email to the teen, DoorDash announced that the driver responsible for this reprehensible act would no longer be allowed to deliver for the platform. The company stated, “We do not condone this type of action and have therefore taken the step of removing them from our platform. This Dasher will no longer be able to deliver future orders on DoorDash. Results of all internal investigations are kept private.”
