Rick Ross Attempts A Jamaican Accent, During A Studio Session

Rick Ross is a multi-talented individual. He is a successful businessman, a podcaster, and of course, a rapper. He’s currently attempting to add impersonation to his list of skills.

Rozay attempts to sound Jamaican in a video uploaded to Instagram and even displays some Patois. He appears to be in the studio, so perhaps he’s teasing a new path for whatever will come after his earlier this year released Richer Than I Ever Been.

Ross records himself in the video reciting various West Indian proverbs. People that sound like they are from Jamaica respond to him in the background.

Ross hasn’t really used many Jamaican elements in his music before, but in 2020, he collaborated with Skip Marley on the reggae R&B mashup “Make Me Feel,” as noted by HipHopDX. Additionally, Ross and Nigerian Afropop musician Adekunle Gold released the song “5 Star” back in August.

Fans may be set to see Ross make a global pivot as a result of that cooperation and this new clip. Either that, or he’s just attempting to blend in with some studio colleagues.

Ross has been keeping himself occupied with a number of endeavors in addition to learning his patois. The Miami rapper made an appearance on Freddie Gibbs’ star-studded $oul $old $eperately in September.
