Baby Keem’s Album: Certified Gold For Baby Keem’s Album “THE MELODIC BLUE”
Baby Keem’s debut album ‘The Melodic Blue’ has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
On Wednesday (April 13), Keem was presented with a plaque indicating that the project had sold over 500,000 certified units. Given how influential the album was when it was released, the achievement should come as no surprise to Keem fans.

Kendrick Lamar made two guest appearances on “Range Brothers” and “Family Ties,” as well as the songs “Durag Activity” with Travis Scott and “Cocoa” with Don Toliver, which all helped to elevate the album. On the day of its release, September 10, the album received 70.1 million on-demand streaming, placing it second behind Drake’s chart-topping monster Certified Lover Boy. With an estimated 53,000 total album-equivalent units sold, The Melodic Blue eventually reached No. 5 on the Billboard 200 list.

“I don’t think music has anything out right now, like this project,” Keem told Billboard last September. Adding to that, he said, “I took my time carefully recording every vocals. I was going through a lot during that process, just becoming a man.”
He continued, “I just want to make sure I’m always giving people something new — maybe not what they want to hear, but what they need to hear. If it was up to some people, I’d just make a bunch of ‘Orange Soda’s and call it a day.”
The 21-year-old is presently on the road with his Melodic Blue Tour, which will conclude on the Coachella stage on April 15.
