At the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2022, Steven Tyler and Ed Sheeran Performed Alongside Eminem

The 2022 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony took place Last night, at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles, and Eminem became the latest rap artist to be inducted. The rapper gave a set of six songs to the audience after being introduced by his longtime mentor, friend, and producer Dr. Dre.

The “My Name Is” classic by the Detroit legend opened the performance, which was followed by the quick-rapping “Rap God.” Steven Tyler of Aerosmith then joined Marshall Mathers for “Sing For The Moment” before he was helped by Ed Sheeran for “Stan.” Along with his verse from Drake’s “Forever,” Eminem also performed “Not Affairs,” one of his inspirational Recovery singles.

Here is the fraction of  Eminem’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction speech:

“This shit is crazy… I realize what an honor it is right now for me to be up here tonight, and what a privilege it is to do the music that I love, and the music that basically saved my life.

“Where’d the man, where did Dre go? The man who saved my life, ladies and gentlemen, Dr. motherf-ucking Dre. So I’m going to try to make this as quick and painless as possible. I’m fucking stuttering and shit, I mean Jesus Christ.

“So I’m probably not supposed to actually be here tonight because of a couple of reasons. One of them that I’m a rapper, and this is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And there’s only a few of us right now that have been inducted in already, but there’s only a few of us.

Ed Sheeran And Lil Baby Drop Music Video For ‘2step,’ Which Got Filmed In Ukraine

Ed Sheeran drops a video for a remix of his song “2step,” which features Lil Baby, a 27-year-old American rapper. Sheeran and Lil Baby wander about Kyiv, Ukraine, in the “2step” video. Hundreds of people join them in a street dance.

Sheeran said in a statement that the video got filmed in 2021, before Russia invaded Ukraine.

“I filmed the video for 2step in the city of Kyiv, Ukraine before the devastating acts of violence started to take place. It was my first time visiting the country and I felt so welcomed during my stay there — everyone from the production crew to the many people I met across my days off,” he said.

“Ukraine is a proud and resilient country and I’m grateful to have had the chance to film my video there,” he continued. “I stand with Ukraine and will be donating my record royalties from YouTube streams of the video to the DEC’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.”

The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal helps those in need of food, water, shelter, and medical care.

Sheeran’s fifth studio album, was out in October and includes the original version of “2step.” “Bad Habits,” “Shivers,” “Overpass Graffiti,” and “The Joker and the Queen” are among the album’s singles.

Ed Sheeran Wins Copyright Infringement Case for "Shape of You"

Ed Sheeran Wins Copyright Infringement Case for “Shape of You”

Ed Sheeran has won a copyright dispute in the English High Court for his 2017 hit “Shape of You”. Following a high-profile trial, Sheeran and his co-writers, Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol and producer Steve Mac, were found not to have copied Sami Chokri’s 2015 song “Oh Why,” according to a judge today.

According to the judge, Sheeran “never purposefully nor unconsciously” borrowed a line from “Oh Why” when writing “Shape of You,” as Sheeran stated during his trial.

Ed Sheeran’s Statement In A Twitter Post

Sheeran said in a video statement on Twitter, “While we’re obviously happy with the result, I feel like claims like this are way too common now and have become a culture where a claim is made with the idea that a settlement will be cheaper than taking it to court. Even if there’s no base for the claim. It’s really damaging to the songwriting industry. There’s only so many notes and very few chords used in pop music. Coincidence is bound to happen if 60,000 songs are being released every day on Spotify.”

He went on a to say: “I don’t want to take anything away from the pain and hurt suffered by both sides of this case, but I just want to say that I’m not an entity. I’m not a corporation.” He added, I’m a human being. I’m a father, I’m a husband,  I’m a son. Lawsuits are not a pleasant experience and I hope with this ruling it means in the future baseless claims like this can be avoided.”

Ed Sheeran Sued by Chokri and his Co-writer

Chokri and his co-writer Ross O’Donoghue sued Sheeran, McDaid, and Mac for copyright infringement. He sued them over purported similarities between the two songs. The writers of “The Shape of You” filed a lawsuit in 2018. He sought the High Court to rule that they had not infringed on the copyright. Two months later, Chokri and O’Donoghue filed a counterclaim.
