Harry Styles Donates $1 million To Help Stop Gun Violence After Texas Shooting
Harry Styles announced that he will contribute $1 million from the next North American leg of his Love on Tour 2022 to the Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund in collaboration with Live Nation. After the recent school shooting in Uvalde, Texas, in which 19 children and two instructors were killed, Styles made his announcement.
“Along with all of you, I have been absolutely devastated by the recent string of mass shootings in America, culminating at Robb Elementary School in Texas,” Styles said on Instagram. “On our North American tour, we will be partnering with Everytown who work to end gun violence, donating to support their efforts, and sharing their suggested action items.”
Other celebrities spoke against gun violence in the wake of the Uvalde shooting, including Steve Kerr, Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Jamie Foxx, and others. Following the shooting, Matthew McConaughey, who were considering running for office in Texas, issued a lengthy message on Twitter.
In North America, Styles will perform 42 performances, all of which have already sold out. According to Hits Daily Double, his latest album, Harry’s House, is likely to debut at the top of the Billboard 200, selling 450,000 to 500,000 equivalent album units.
