Moneybagg Yo said, “Yeah, we were sleeping on the floor in the Mill Creek Apartment. we were doing what we had to do to get forty dollars, hundred dollars. Here in the industry like in the streets. It was up and down and we were just taking the money and going to one sound Studios and recording. Um really basically that’s it. I just took everything I had and did make that happen.” 

When the host asked to clarify what Moneybagg meant by saying slept on the floor, he replied, “No mattress like pallets of covers like. Oh that period last for, it was when I was making the Federal. I said it lasted for probably six months..” 

The rapper also detailed how he won back Ari Fletcher after cheating. He said, “I’ve made mistakes. I’ve made poor decisions. And that’s why I rock with her so tough, like – she’s helping me through the situation. I look at it like I was just being a n-gga and a n-gga that come from Memphis and my environment. Moneybagg Yo recently opened his new restaurant in his Memphis hometown.

The price of items at the rapper’s restaurant is creating a significant division between his customers. In the restaurant, 40oz of Tomahawk Steak costs $135 and comes without sticks. 

One customer said, “MoneyBagg Yo restaurante so man high!! Do he not remember when he was starving in them apartments?? BFFR [two cry laughing emojis],” one person wrote, as noted by Neighborhood Talk. Another argued that if the steak is high enough quality, then it’s worth the price. “The price ain’t the issue,” they wrote. “It’s what quality of food imma get for that price cause ion trust moneybagg to cook me a $135 steak.” One more joked, “Moneybagg want $100 for a steak, I’ll pay that and he better come out and rap.”

However, another person wrote “idk why y’all are complaining about @MoneyBaggYo prices for steak at his restaurant. he’s selling 40 oz tomahawk steak,” they wrote. “and y’all know y’all are gonna hop on the bandwagon and wanna be going to his restaurant and bragging like y’all have money for the same steak.”

With the release of his new track, which features a famous Outkast song as a sample, Moneybagg Yo has started the promotion for his upcoming album.

A sample from the 1996 song, “Jazzy Belle,” by Outklast, which Lil Wayne famously used for the Drought is over 4, Return to the Carter 3 sessions mixtape hit “PMW,’ was used by Yo Gotti’s Collective music Group star in the video for his most recent single, “Quickie,” which was released on Thursday, December 8, Moneybagg Yo is seen in an astronaut costume as he raps about the thrill of unplanned sex in a video for the graphic song that oscillates between strip club and interplanetary settings.

Immediately after “Quickie” dropped Moneybagg Yo took to his Twitter page and confirm that he’s in the album mode and ready to deliver the follow up to his 2021 Billboard Chart Topping album A Gangsta’s pain.

In a separate tweet, Moneybagg Yo went on to thank Lil Wayne, who appeared on the remix of his smash single “Wockesha” last year, for inspiring him to make the record on his own terms.

“Appreciate @LilTunechi for the inspiration, #Quickie OUT NOW!!” he tweeted. The release of “Quickie” follows the Memphis rapper’s September single “Blow,” in addition to multiple highlighted guest features moneybagg Yo has provided recently for artists such as Freddi Gibbs, who recruited Bagg for his album track “Too much.”

Last month, Moneybagg Yo spoke to HipHopDX about new music and his work on his own brand of rolling papers at the release event for the Madison Square Gumbo strain at the Maywood, California, branch of Berner’s cookies dispensary.

“It’s crazy vibes right now, I don’t really wanna speak on it too much right now, we gonna get to that later,” Moneybagg Yo said after being asked about his upcoming releases. “The music is what it is. They know I got that so they know I’m coming.”

He continued, “it’s all about Gumbo right now, Actually, we are putting together my own paper, I’m gonna come out with my own paper, You know what I’m saying, And we’re gonna do the leave too, So that’s coming too.”

Moneybagg Yo clarified that the tweet Ari Fletcher made about not letting a man “put his hands on me” wasn’t about him in his response to it. Fletcher quickly stated that she was referring to someone quite different.

“Today was the last day I let a n***a put his hands on me,” Fletcher had written in her initial post. “Fight your demons, not me.”

The rapper received immediate accusations from fans that he had touched Fletcher, to which Moneybagg Yo reacted with a message of his own.

“Stop attaching me to dat shit I got daughters i would neva put my hands on a woman,” Moneybagg posted.

Fletcher quickly removed her tweet and acknowledged that she should be more cautious with what she posts to her nearly 2 million social media followers. She clarified in a another tweet: “I’m talking about a drunk man in the casino, not Bagg. It’s a video and he pushed me on the ground. I gotta be more careful how I tweet.”

Moneybagg Yo and Ari Fletcher have been dating since January 2020. Megan Thee Stallion and Bagg once dated. Four sons and four daughters make up his eight kids.

Moneybagg has released a sneak peek at the script If Pain Was a Person, a film based on Yo’s album A Gangsta’s Pain. The rapper asks 50 Cent for aid in getting the project done in a video where he flips through pages of the script.

According to the first pages it was “written by Marcus Harris and Joe Clabough” with a “story by Moneybagg Yo.”

“Aye 50, let’s talk about it,” Moneybagg says in a video posted.

In the caption, he also hinted to a September release: “Hope y’all ready!! Big Screen Bagg #september.”

For decades, 50 Cent is a major player in both film and television. His recent Starz series, Power and BMF, are among the most popular. He also starred in the semi-autobiographical film Get Rich or Die Trying, which was based on one of his own records.

Moneybagg’s first No. 1 on the Billboard 200 came in 2021 with A Gangsta’s Pain. EST Gee, Pooh Shiesty, Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, and others appear on the album.

Moneybagg retaliated on Twitter after getting trolled by fans who doubted his storytelling abilities: “Fuck whoever said my movie gone be on tubi.”
