Chris Rock Says He’ll Address Will Smith’s Oscars Slap

Chris Rock isn’t eager to discuss the Will Smith slap incident at the 2022 Oscars. Smith stepped casually onto the Academy Prize stage as Rock was about to deliver the Best Documentary award, slapping Rock with an open palm after Rock made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s, bald head.

Since then, the Academy’s Board of Governors has barred Smith from attending the event for the next ten years. He will preserve his Best Actor Oscar for his part in King Richard, and he can still be nominated in the next ten years. Smith has also expressed regret and says he accepts the punishment.

He also indicated that he will be resigning from the Academy ahead of the decision. Rock, on the other hand, has stated that he will remain silent until the money is received.

Chris Rock Says He Won’t Speak About Will Smith’s Slap Until He’s “Paid.”

According to TMZ, on Friday, April 9, Rock told a live audience that he would not discuss the Oscars unless he was paid financially. It’s safe to presume he’s referring to a paid interview or perhaps a paid comedy special. According to TMZ, the information came from a piece in the Palm Springs Desert Sun, which covered Rock’s set in Indio, California, as well as his ongoing national comedy tour amid the scandal.

According to reports, Rock stated “I’m OK, I have a whole show, and I’m not talking about that until I get paid. Life is good. I got my hearing back.”

Will Smith Apologized

Smith apologized during his award speech, but he exempted Rock. “I wanna apologize to the Academy, I wanna apologize to all my fellow nominees,” he said. “This is a beautiful moment. And I’m not crying for winning an award—it’s not about winning an award for me.”

He then issued an official apology, stating that Rock’s joke was a “trigger” because his wife suffers from a medical ailment that causes her to lose her hair. Smith admits to being a work in progress and expresses regret for his acts. “There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness,” he added. Rock reportedly declined to press criminal charges against Smith.

Will Smith once cracked a bad joke

WATCH: WILL SMITH CRACKS A BAD JOKE ONCE, AND THE CLIP IS NOW GOING VIRAL

Will Smith once cracked a bad joke in the past. The Oscars 2022 were one of the most talked-about events of the year, with people still debating the on-stage conflict between Will Smith and Chris Rock.

An old clip of Will Smith making a bald joke on a talk show has gone viral as fans and celebs continue to share their thoughts on the King Richard star slapping the comedian.

The actor talks about a man’s shaved head in the 1991 video and laughs it off as a joke when the audience reacts.

The video, which has gone viral on Twitter, is from an episode of The Arsenio Hall Show from more than 30 years ago.

Will Smith Once Cracked A Bad Joke

Will says in the video: “You can’t do that in this world, man. You can’t do that. Arsenio, they got rules. They got rules, like, he has a rule. The bass player? He got a rule. He’s got to wax his head every morning. That’s a rule.”

The camera then cuts to a bald man in the audience, who laughs along with the actor when he tells the joke.

When the actor notices the audience’s amazement at hearing him make a joke about a person’s baldness, he immediately adds, “Oh it’s a joke, guy!” It’s a prank! “Come on!” you say.

Defending Will, Arsenio later says: “See? You got too into the character and got hurt.”

Will made a joke about the bald man in 1991, and now bassplayer John B. Williams has spoken out about the new incident.

“I didn’t take it seriously,” he told Rolling Stone about the old clip. He was a stand-up comedian, he was the Bel-Fresh Air’s Prince and he used to be a rapper. It was a joke to me. I made a joke about it. It was a spectacle & was enjoyable. “It didn’t bother me at all.”

Meanwhile, Williams commented on the actor slapping Chris Rock for a similar insult directed towards Jada: “Chris Rock is a comedian. I like Chris Rock. When Chris Rock made the comment, Will was laughing. It wasn’t until it became obvious Jada didn’t think it was funny that Will went to her defense.

“Love makes you do all kinds of things. That’s his wife, who he loves. He just reacted from outrage. I have sometimes reacted from outrage.”

Haddish, who has worked alongside Smith in ‘Girls Trip,’ was spotted talking to Pinkett Smith during a commercial break at the Oscars following the incident. Pinkett Smith initially accounced in December that she shaved her hair because of alopecia. Rock’s comedy wasn’t funny for “Pinkett Smith.

Pinkett praised her husband’s deeds, “the actress told People. Smith is doing “fine” according to Haddish. What she had to say about it is as follows:

Tiffany Haddish Praises Will Smith For Slapping Chris Rock

Will Smith allegedly slapped Chris Rock, according to Tiffany Haddish. “That’s What Your Husband Is Supposed To Do, Right? Protect you. I was moved when I witnessed a Black man standing up for his wife.”

After the Oscars, Haddish told People magazine (via EW): “That meant so much to me.” As a woman who has been unprotected, someone saying something like, ‘Keep my wife’s name out of your mouth, leave my wife alone,’ is what your spouse is supposed to do, right?

“Take care of yourself. That meant a great deal to me. And while the rest of the world may not like how it went down, it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen because it convinced me that there are still guys out there who love and care about their wives. “And that’s their friend.”

Haddish added, referring to Rock. “Why would you do it as a friend?” He didn’t even tell her about the prank, but she was hurt. He probably wouldn’t have said anything if she hadn’t been harmed. But it was evident that he was… They took advantage of it. They took advantage of her, so… He guarded his wife.”

Jada Pinkett Smith

Jada Pinkett Smith Breaks Silence, Says It’s A Healing Season

Jada Pinkett Smith has spoken out two days after her husband, Will Smith, assaulted Chris Rock onstage at the 94th Academy Awards.

The actress wrote a message to her Instagram followers that stated, “This is a season for healing and I’m here for it.”

Will Smith’s Apology

Jada’s remark follows Will’s, 53, apology on Monday, in which he said, “Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behavior at last night’s Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable. Jokes at my expense are a part of the job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was too much for me to bear and I reacted emotionally.”

“I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris,” the King Richard actor stated. “I was out of line and I was wrong. I am embarrassed and my actions were not indicative of the man I want to be. There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.”

“I would also like to apologize to the Academy, the producers of the show, all the attendees and everyone watching around the world. I would like to apologize to the Williams Family and my King Richard Family. I deeply regret that my behavior has stained what has been an otherwise gorgeous journey for all of us,” Smith came to a conclusion.

The incident happened on Sunday night after the 57-year-old comedian made a joke about Jada’s hair, stating, ” “I adore you, Jada. I’m looking forward to seeing G.I. Jane 2.”

The Oscars Academy Statement

Demi Moore’s shaved head in the film G.I. Jane is referenced in the remark. Jada recently revealed that her bald head is the consequence of years of suffering from alopecia. The joke clearly did not amuse the actress, who rolled her eyes from her seat.

Will stepped onstage seconds later and approached Rock, striking him in front of the audience and millions of viewers at home. “Keep my wife’s name out of your f—-ing mouth,” Will yelled at a surprised Rock as he returned to his table, then sat with Jada at his table for the remainder of the night.

Will later apologized to the Academy and his fellow nominees for not mentioning Rock when he won Best Actor later in the program. He spoke about acting out of love and protection in his impassioned address, stating, “Love makes you do insane things.”

Since the incident, Rock has remained silent and has declined to seek charges. Will, Jada, and their family attended an after-party on Sunday night to celebrate his Oscar triumph, dancing and posing with the statuette.

In a statement released Monday afternoon, the Academy said, “Mr. Smith’s conduct at last night’s show were condemned by the Academy. In compliance with our Bylaws, Standards of Conduct, and California law, we have begun a formal investigation into the occurrence and will consider further action and repercussions.”

DaBaby Offers His Opinion On The Oscars Debate: “Will Smith For President”

DaBaby asked “You think you can play with a man wife? In front of him, in front of his wife?”

Will Smith slapping Chris Rock on the Academy Awards stage over the weekend is trending. Overall, comedians have lambasted Smith, fearing that the public will attack them over jokes. Also, they feared racist stereotypes will be fired off on every social media timeline imaginable. Meanwhile, DaBaby voiced his perspective on the topic, claiming that Smith is deserving of the Oval Office position.

DaBaby On Will Smith And Chris Rock Saga

According to the rapper, there is a lot of “worth” to be “taken away” from the Oscars incident. “The essential thing is that it’s simply an example of how motherf*ckas play with you on the internet, and you have to let it slip because it’s the internet,” he stated.

“You gotta let the sh*t slide, there ain’t nothing you can do,” he continued. “But when motherf*ckas see people play with you on the internet, especially if they play with you long enough, it becomes a pattern. Like, playing with you on the internet, it kinda gives some people the confidence and makes them bold enough to feel like they can play with you in person. With everybody, that ain’t the case.”

“That sh*t just really separated internet from real life. You see people play with a n*gga on the internet every day so now you think you can play with a man wife? In front of him, in front of his wife? Right there, while he’s in the same room? It don’t go like that. So, Will Smith for president.”

These days, DaBaby is involved in his own legal dispute with Brandon Bills, the rapper’s youngest child’s mother and DaniLeigh’s brother. Brandon and DaBaby became internet sensations after a video of them fighting in a bowling alley went viral.
