The 2021 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards to honor Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, and D-Nice
The organization announced in a press conference that the three artists has been nominated for the award of the prestigious “Voice of the Culture” award during the June 22nd event. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers will award the artists and producers to recognize their contribution in the production of Verzuz and Club Quarantine. Verzuz and Club Quarantine are two virtual events which received international recognition as with a diversity in representation and as a symbol of inclusivity especially in the celebration of Black artist’s legacy. The events were virtual and therefore the audience was able to watch a livestream from the comfort of their homes which was humbling as people were struggling to beat the hard hitting effects of the Pandemic.
In Verzuz, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland highlighted and projected the music culture of black people while at the same time recognizing their legacy, influence and contribution to the mainstream music industry. The virtual Entertainment show received overwhelming online viewership and subscription as millions of new sign-ups, subscribers and viewers tuned in during each live stream of the show.
Legendary DJ and Producer D-Nice offered curated DJ Sets Entertainment on Quarantine and Instagram since the start of the pandemic which attracted immense following and viewership as people were finding ways to kill boredom during curfew times. In the events, the DJ expressed wit, creativity and professional ingenuity by introducing live dancing parties which interested even politicians.
The 2021 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards will be a virtual event with a live stream over the Social Media from 22nd – 24th of June. The event is meant to recognize songwriters, composers, and publishers who contributed in the making and creation of the most successful R&B/ Hip-hop, rap and gospel songs during the last one year. Fans and audience will be allowed to join in the virtual display of the fete as the organization will be sharing exclusive photos, videos, and acceptance speeches from the nominees including the top performing songs and publications.
On top of that, the three artists, Timbaland, Swizz Beatz, and D-Nice will also participate in an exclusive ASCAP Experience conversion dubbed Voices of the Culture to show case how they united the world during the most desperate time.
