Twitter Threatens to Sue Meta for Threads Launch
Twitter is threatening to sue Meta after officially launching Threads that is now becoming a major competition for Twitter.
In a letter to Mark Zuckerberg, Twitter’s attorney said platform “has serious concerns that Meta Platforms (Meta) has engaged in systematic, willful and unlawful misappropriation of Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property”.
He added, “Twitter intends to strictly enforce its intellectual property rights, and demands that Meta take immediate steps to stop using any Twitter trade secrets or other highly confidential information.”
However, Mark said Threads is an opportunity for people to publicly engage in conversations. He said the app is to allow“ public conversations app with 1bn+ people.”
In the letter to Meta, Musk’s attorney said, “With that knowledge, Meta deliberately assigned these employees to develop, in a matter of months, Meta’s copycat ‘Threads’ app with the specific intent that they use Twitter’s trade secrets and other intellectual property in order to accelerate the development of Meta’s competing app, in violation of both state and federal law as well as those employees’ ongoing obligations to Twitter,”
Responding to Threads launch, Elon Musk said, “Competition is fine, cheating is not,”
What do you think. Kindly feel to let us know in the comments section.
Mark Zuckerberg sees the Threads app as an opportunity for public conversations, but Twitter is accusing Meta of deliberately copying their app development.
Elon Musk is really speaking out against “cheating in competition”, lol 😆, suggesting that Twitter’s allegations against Meta should be taken seriously.
Twitter taking legal action against Meta for allegedly stealing their trade secrets and intellectual property with their new Threads app is for me just an uproar 😒
Meta has huge potential success in the project.
