Roddy Ricch Arrested For Weapons Possession Prior To The Governors Ball Show

Roddy Ricch did not attend the Governors Ball on Saturday (June 11) as planned. Instead, he was reportedly arrested on weapons possession charges just hours before his performance.

Roddy and his group were stopped at a CITI Field security checkpoint, according to TMZ. Authorities uncovered a loaded pistol, nine rounds of ammo, and a big magazine when searching the vehicle.

Governors Ball responded with a tweet that stated, “Unfortunately Roddy Ricch is no longer performing today.”

Roddy and two other people were eventually detained and charged with four charges of criminal weapon possession, possession of a large capacity ammo feeding mechanism, and unauthorized possession of that equipment.

The arrest is yet another low moment in rap’s relationship with law enforcement, especially in New York during festival season. Fetty Wap was jailed on federal narcotics charges prior to his appearance at Rolling Loud New York last year. Five New York rappers, including the late Pop Smoke, Sheff G, Casanova, Don Q, and 22GZ, were barred from playing at Rolling Loud New York in 2019.

Governors Ball has been scrambling to find acts to perform in recent weeks. Due to “circumstances beyond [their] control,” Migos announced on Tuesday (June 7) that they will no longer be performing at the event.

Lil Wayne was supposed to take Migos’ position on the list, but due to a “flight disruption,” he couldn’t perform on Friday (June 10) and was replaced by A$AP Ferg.

Fulton County District Attorney Reveals Threats She’s Received Over YSL Case

Every few days, new information about YSL’s case is released, and we close off this week with a statement from the Fulton County District Attorney about her safety. The RICO indictment states that Young Thug, Gunna, and 26 of his accused collaborators are participating in criminal gang activity. The group has been charged with murder, attempted murder, theft, witness tampering, intimidation, and other crimes, and while Thug and Gunna’s camp denies that YSL is a gang, prosecutors contend differently.

District Attorney Fani Willis spoke with WSB-TV about the case, including the necessity for her to beef up security as a result of the persistent threats she and her team have received since the case went public.

She acknowledged that she believes thfe threats are coming from fans rather than the workers.

“We don’t believe that these threats were directed by anyone that is in the YSL indictment,” Willis stated. “I would say that (threats are coming from) people that are very sympathetic, maybe admirers of YSL and people who are connected with them in some sense.”

R. Kelly Faces A Sentence Of 25+ Years According To Prosecutors: "He Lured Young Girls And Boys."

R.Kelly Faces A Sentence Of 25+ Years According To Prosecutors: “He Lured Young Girls And Boys.”

R.Kelly will spend the rest of his life in prison, and federal prosecutors are reportedly pushing for this to become fact. Kelly has been accused of child pornography and sexual deviances for decades, and he was found guilty of related offenses, including sex trafficking, in September of last year. His sentencing is coming up in a few weeks, and prosecutors want him to get at least 25 years in prison.

Kelly’s lawyers asked for a sentence of 14 to 17.5 years in prison at the end of May, according to sources. For their equivalents, this is insufficient. According to reports, the prosecution believes R. Kelly poses a public safety danger if he is granted his lawyers’ plea for time to see freedom. Kelly’s alleged sex offenses were carried out with the assistance of a group of persons, including Kelly’s employees, who did not turn him over to authorities.

The Prosecutors Speak On R.Kelly’s Offfenses

“With the aid of his inner circle and over a period of decades, the defendant preyed upon children and young women for his own sexual gratification,” federal prosecutors stated in a memorandum according to Law & Crime. “He lured young girls and boys into his orbit, often through empty or conditioned promises of assistance in developing a career in the entertainment industry or simply by playing into the minors’ understandable desire to meet and spend time with a popular celebrity.”

“In order to carry out his many crimes, the defendant relied upon his fame, money and popularity as an R&B recording star and used the large network of people his status afforded him including his business managers, security guards and bouncers, runners, lawyers, accountants, and assistants  to both carry out and conceal his crimes,” they said. “He continued his crimes and avoided punishment for them for almost 30 years and must now be held to account.”

R. Kelly will find out his fate on June 29. He has another trial in Chicago coming up soon, and sources claim that while incarcerated, the singer has made acquaintances on the inside, including the shooter who wreaked havoc on a New York City subway a few months ago.

Trouble Accused Murderer Turns Himself In

Trouble’s untimely demise is still causing a stir in the hip-hop community. Friends, relatives, and loved ones have paid tribute to the 34-year-old artist online, stating that he was more than his talents. Mariel “Trouble” Orr was shot and killed in an Atlanta suburb while visiting a friend over the weekend, and a suspect was recognized almost immediately.

The incident occurred after a domestic disagreement, according to reports, though details are limited. According to officials, Trouble was in the neighborhood seeing a woman at an apartment complex, according to NPR.

Details about what happened during a verbal or physical altercation have been disputed online as the rumor mill has run wild, but authorities have established that their suspect, Jamichael Jones, shot Trouble in the chest. The rapper was brought to a local hospital, but sadly, he died as a result of his injuries.

Jones, 33, is said to have turned himself in to authorities this evening (June 6). Jones’s record doesn’t appear to be clean; he has a history of “several arrest warrants out” for him, as reported by NPR, “on felony murder, aggravated assault and home invasion charges.”

The Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office conducted a press conference about Trouble being shot and murdered hours earlier on Sunday night (June 5). The news was live on Atlanta news site 11Alive News. Despite initial reports that Trouble was shot in a car, the rapper was discovered mortally injured outside of the Lake St. James Apartments in Conyers, Ga., according to Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office public information officer Jedidia Canty.

“Upon deputies’ arrival, they observed a Black male lying on the ground suffering from gunshot wound,” Canty said to the press. “Unfortunately, the victim did die on the scene. We do have a suspect. His name is…JaMichael Jones. We currently do have warrants for his arrest but right now he is not in custody.”

The gunman and Trouble, according to Canty, were strangers.”What I can tell you is Mr. Mariel Orr, which is the victim, was visiting a female friend at the complex. And Mr. JaMichael Jones did know the female. It was a domestic situation,” Canty added.

Jones has yet to be captured as of publication. Home invasion, criminal homicide, and aggravated assault are among the charges against him. Jones works in Atlanta’s music industry, according to an Instagram account believed to belong to the suspect.

Young Thug Laughed At After Making A Request To Use The Bathroom

Young Thug Laughed At After Making A Request To Use The Bathroom

Young Thug is still behind bars as part of the YSL gang indictment. Thug, Gunna, and a slew of other YSL members were arrested just over a month ago as part of a massive RICO investigation involving YSL members. Prosecutors claim that Thug was the mastermind behind a number of crimes and that he instructed others to commit violent acts on YSL’s behalf. They’re claiming that Young Stoner Life was a gang, not a record label, a claim that has been debunked by many in the music industry.

Thug was again denied release for the second time yesterday, and he will now have to stay in jail until his trial. There’s a recorded video of the court hearing and one segment has gone popular on social media. This video reveals the inhumanity of prison and how, for the most part, prisoners’ legitimate concerns are not taken seriously.

Thug politely requests permission to use the restroom because he has been holding it in for a long time. The rapper appeared dejected about the situation, and people on the video call laughed at him as soon as he asked the question.

Thankfully, the judge sided with him in this case and told everyone to stop laughing. Thugger was then given a five-minute break to relieve himself.

The video is depressing, and it’s evident that Young Thug is going through a difficult time. For the time being, the lawsuit is just getting started, and it could take months or even a year to complete.

Young Thug Denied Bond In RICO Case After Prosecutors Call Him “One Of The Most Dangerous Men”

Young Thug will remain behind bars, despite Kevin Liles’ dramatic testimony on the witness stand. We just got word that 300 Entertainment CEO Kevin Liles was defending Thugger’s character in court. A RICO indictment named Thug and 27 others, including Gunna, alleging that YSL is a criminal street gang involved in theft, murder, and other illegal crimes. Thug is also accused of being involved in the stabbing of YFN Lucci in jail and the shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus, according to prosecutors.

“This whole thing that people are talking about, that’s not him. The Jeffrey I know? The Jeffrey I know would give me the clothes off of his back. The Jeffrey I know? I can give him my kids, he could give me his kids. That’s the Jeffrey I know,” Liles stated. He also spoke out against the use of lyrics as proof.

Despite the “Free Gunna” and “Free Young Thug” efforts, Thugger was reportedly denied bond. Thug, according to Judge Ural Glanville, constitutes a menace and should remain behind bars. Prosecutors said he’s “King Slime” and one of “the most dangerous persons here.”

Rappers are recently paying close attention to this case for good measure, especially since lyrics are set to be a big part of it. In The Shade Room’s comment area, The Game chimed in with his comments, labeling the prosecutors’ remarks “some sucka sh*t.”

Yella Beezy Issues A Statement In The Midst Of His Arrest

Yella Beezy, a Dallas rapper, was previously arrested earlier this week on suspicion of sexual assault. He got arrested on Wednesday and released on a $1 million bond, according to reports. Because the bond he deposited was insufficient, the warrant was issued.

All of his charges date back to November 2021. Yella Beezy, whose true name is Markies Deandre Conway, received a charge of abandoning or endangering a kid, unauthorized carrying of a firearm, and sexual assault by police at the time.

The artist rejected the allegations of assault at the time, saying, “I was arrested on false allegations… Anybody that know me know I’m not pressed over sex or anything of that nature. I’m not an aggressive person like, that don’t even fit me, like at all.”

Following his recent arrest, the “That’s On Me” rapper is speaking out once more. He addressed the incident on his Instagram story, putting the record straight.

He began by saying, “I got arrested for a ticket and the D.A. went off my bond and raised it to $1,000,000 (some unheard of sh*t).” He claimed that the charges he’s facing are the same he’s been fighting for a while now and that they’re about to get dropped. “The ‘system’ prolonging it in hopes to catch me in [something] so they can stick anything to me,” he said.

Roddy Ricch Demands Gunna's Release

Roddy Ricch Demands Gunna’s Release

Roddy Ricch posted an encouraging message on his Instagram Story on Friday (May 27). The rapper is undoubtedly hurt by the arrests of Gunna and Young Thug.

“Free @gunna we miss you out here champ Moms praying 4 u,” Roddy Ricch posted.

Gunna will be stuck in prison for the foreseeable future, so he will need all of the help he can get from the outside world.

The YSL rapper and the Compton native have previously collaborated on tracks including “Start Wit Me,” “Don’t I,” “COOLER THAN A BITCH,” and the “Too Easy” remix.

In an 88-page and 56-count indictment, Gunna was detained alongside Young Thug and 26 other YSL affiliates. The 28-year-old is charged with one count of conspiring to violate the RICO Act (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act).

Prosecutors said the “Pushin P” rapper is a “proven gang member” who was controlling the shots for YSL with Young Thug.

The Court Denied Gunna Bond

On May 23, Gunna was previously denied bond, and his trial has been scheduled for January 9, 2023. The court indicated that he denied the rapper’s bond because he was concerned about possible witness tampering. Gunna’s defense team is adamant that he is not guilty in the matter.

“Mr. Sergio Kitchens, known as Gunna, is innocent,” Gunna’s attorneys said to TMZ. “The indictment falsely portrays his music as part of a criminal conspiracy. Mr. Kitchens has been an advocate for his community, and it is our privilege to advocate for him.”
