Chicago Rapper PGF Nuk Faces Potential 10-Year Prison Sentence
Chicago Rapper PGF Nuk, Polo G’s Cousin, Reportedly Arrested for Weapon Possession.
Chicago rapper PGF Nuk, a relative of Polo G, faces a possible 10-year prison sentence after being apprehended on a felony weapons charge.
A video was shared on August 2, showing the Chicago drill rapper’s arrest by the police. The YouTuber claims PGF Nuk was caught with a switch – a device that can modify a semi-automatic gun into a fully-automatic one – attached to a Glock, leading to his detention.
However, there is some doubt about the video’s authenticity, as the YouTuber mentioned “PGB Duck.” Nevertheless, a mugshot of the “Wassup” rapper emerged after the police allegedly removed his mask.
On January 10, 2023, Governor JB Pritzker enacted a law in Illinois, banning the sale of “assault weapons, high-capacity magazines, and switches” under HB 5471. Possession or distribution of these items is considered a felony, punishable by up to 10 years in prison upon conviction.
The Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives classifies a switch as a machine gun under federal law due to its capacity to convert a semi-automatic gun into a fully automatic one.
As of now, the date for PGF Nuk’s arraignment on the charges remains uncertain.
