A shooting incident in a nightclub in Miami which happened on 31^st May left two victims severely injured. DaBaby was taken to police custody for questioning about the shooting. There were other people implicated in the shooting. One was DaBaby’s signee from his records label Billion Dollar Baby entertainment, Wisdom Akornuche Awute. Wisdom was arrested together with another man called Chris Urena. DaBaby was later released after claims that the shooting was a result of self-defense.

Both Wisdom and Urena were arrested for firing the shots. Wisdom fired some few shots to the victims while they were running away and one was hit on the leg. He was taken to hospital for treatment and later released. Urena shot one in the back which caused the victim to be paralyzed. He is still in the Hospital receiving treatments.

    The lawyer working on YFN Lucci’s case confirmed that DaBaby, real name Jonathan Kirk was released and there were no criminal charges against him. However, Wisdom and Urena are still in custody facing charges of attempted murder because there was evidence against them. The cause of the shooting is still not confirmed but it is said it was because of a long verbal argument.

       This is the second time this year DaBaby is taken to custody. The first time was in January when he was arrested in Beverly Hills for gun charges. He was caught with a loaded gun among a group of men as they walked in a store in Rodeo drive. He was charged with robbery and battery. He was later released on a 35,000 dollars bail. In 2019, he had confessed of carrying weapons after a shooting occurred at Walmart in North Carolina. The shooting left a young man dead. He said he was acting in self defense and was later released.

      He was also arrested the same year over possession of marijuana and resisting arrest in a concert in Charlotte. He later went to twitter to protest about the arrest saying that they wanted to make a bad example out of him.
