American Festival Lollapalooza Has Removed DaBaby From Its Line-Up Because Due To Homophobic Statements
The American festival Lollapalooza has removed DaBaby (29) from its line-up because of the homophobic statements the rapper made during a show in Miami last week. The organization disapproves of his words and considers it no longer appropriate to give him a stage.
“Lollapalooza stands for diversity, inclusivity, respect and love”
Lollapalooza stands for diversity, inclusiveness, respect and love. “With that in mind, we’ve decided that DaBaby will no longer be performing.”
The decision is striking because DaBaby was one of the closing moments of the Sunday evening. His place is taken over by rapper Young Thug, who would actually perform at the end of the afternoon on Sunday.
During a performance at a Miami festival last week, DaBaby asked everyone in attendance to turn on their cell phone lights except gays “having sex in parking garages” or those who are HIV-positive. He also claimed that people with HIV ‘die within two or three weeks’. He later apologized in part via a tweet.
Several celebrities already announced last week that they were shocked by DaBaby’s statements. Dua Lipa and Madonna, among others, disapproved of his statements.
