Rick Ross Attempts A Jamaican Accent, During A Studio Session

Rick Ross is a multi-talented individual. He is a successful businessman, a podcaster, and of course, a rapper. He’s currently attempting to add impersonation to his list of skills.

Rozay attempts to sound Jamaican in a video uploaded to Instagram and even displays some Patois. He appears to be in the studio, so perhaps he’s teasing a new path for whatever will come after his earlier this year released Richer Than I Ever Been.

Ross records himself in the video reciting various West Indian proverbs. People that sound like they are from Jamaica respond to him in the background.

Ross hasn’t really used many Jamaican elements in his music before, but in 2020, he collaborated with Skip Marley on the reggae R&B mashup “Make Me Feel,” as noted by HipHopDX. Additionally, Ross and Nigerian Afropop musician Adekunle Gold released the song “5 Star” back in August.

Fans may be set to see Ross make a global pivot as a result of that cooperation and this new clip. Either that, or he’s just attempting to blend in with some studio colleagues.

Ross has been keeping himself occupied with a number of endeavors in addition to learning his patois. The Miami rapper made an appearance on Freddie Gibbs’ star-studded $oul $old $eperately in September.

Benny The Butcher Offers Advice To Young Rappers Interested In Collaborating With Him

Benny The Butcher gave some sound advise to his Instagram fans on Sunday night. He urged any rappers interested in working with him that hard effort is more vital than skill. Benny gave his advice in a brief video on his Instagram account, appealing straight to his fans.

“I don’t wanna hear that you better than a n***a. Don’t tell me that,” the rapper says in his post. “Tell me you work harder than somebody. Tell me you more focused than a motherfucker. Tell me you got a better gameplan than a motherfucker. I don’t wanna hear that you better than nobody because talent don’t matter in this shit.”

Whatever Benny was hoping for in a partner, Gary rapper Freddie Gibbs didn’t deliver, as he recently stated that their collaborations “came and went.” The remarks came amid an ongoing beef between the two rappers, which ended in Gibbs being jumped by purported Benny’s accomplices earlier this month in Buffalo.

Benny spoke on The Beat with Ari Melber on Friday, where he discussed the recent mass shooting in his hometown, stating that the event traumatized his daughter.

“People are afraid to go to the grocery stores,” he said. “My daughter hasn’t been going to school since that happened. So it’s like, that’s the last thing we need (the Uvalde shooting). We got to find a way to protect ourselves and situations like that.”

Freddie Gibbs Makes His Film Debut In The Trailer For “Down With The King”

Freddie Gibbs’ much awaited feature film debut “Down With the King,” has finally released its first trailer. On Monday, the Gary, Indiana rapper gave fans a first peek at the album via Twitter.

Gibbs plays Money Merc, an artist who declares his retirement from the profession and begins spending time in a small-town farming community in the film.

Diego Ongaro directed Down With the King, which he co-wrote with Xabi Molia. In addition to Gibbs, the film will feature David Krumholtz, Bob Tarasuk, Sharon Washington, and others.

“I had to quit being Freddie Gibbs for six months that I had to be Mercury,” While discussing the film with Complex last year, Gibbs said. “There’s a lot of flaws that I have as a human being and as a man that I added to him to give it a little more sense of reality. Because I’ve been, not necessarily at the point where I wanted to retire, but wanting to quit with the music thing and just the way things are with the atmosphere, with the constant grind, trying to keep people entertained; that’s a difficult thing.

He continued, “You see a lot of entertainers commit suicide and turn to drugs. I’ve had my run-ins with drugs and mental health and things of that nature, so this was a good way for me to kind of put that on canvas without necessarily kind of talking about it to anybody. This movie was more therapeutic for me than anything, even with some of the music.”

On June 28, Down With the King will be available on demand and through streaming.

Freddie Gibbs Gets Offended With Benny For Talking About Their Relationship

Freddie Gibbs took offense when Benny talked about their relationship during an interview.

Benny was recently interviewed with Spotify’s Most Necessary Live where he made some statement about his relationship with Gibbs saying, “[Working with Freddie Gibbs] came and went, to be honest with you. It’s all love.”

Gibbs got the quote and fired back on the 24th of March, he seems to be angry at the comment. He replied initially by tweeting, “Came and went lol.” He then replied it on Instagram with a direct response.

“Nigga said working with Freddie Gibbs came and went,” Gibbs said in the video. “I know some other shit that came and went too, nigga. Just keep my name out y’all mouth when y’all talking to people or doing interviews and shit. Just say, ‘Next question. I don’t want to talk about that nigga, man.'” Just say, ‘Next muthafuckin question.’ For real.”

Freddie and Benny had been very good friends, the duo has once collaborated on a track “Frank Lucas” during Freddie Gibbs’ 2020 Alfredo album and “One Way Flight” on Benny’s 2020 Burden of Proof project. They had several collaborations together.

However, a problem begin to arise in June 2020 when Westside decided to question Gibbs’ manager as to when last did a rapper released an album as good as Gibbs’ Alfredo and Bandana.

Freddie Gibbs Shows Signs Of Life After Suspected Jim Jones Attack

Much to the delight of DJ Akademiks, Jim Jones’s crew fought Freddie Gibbs’s crew in Miami last night, with eyewitnesses saying Capo got the better of Gangsta Gibbs.

How much better is in doubt because this morning Gibbs shot a video in the airport in which the Gary, Indiana spitter looks none the worse for wear.

“Come on baby, it’s me, the rabbit,” Gibbs said with nary a bruise on his face.

The word was Gibbs got hit in the face by Jones and members of Jones’s crew.

Given what he looks like, does that now sound like cap?
