Doja Cat Talks About Being A Rapper And Nicki Minaj’s Influence

Doja Cat claims that winning a Grammy in the rap category would mean “everything” to her. Despite hip hop purists debating whether she is a rapper. Earlier this year, her collaboration with Saweetie, “Best Friend,” got nominated for a Grammy for Best Rap Song.

“The only person who should be rating hip-hop is an OG or somebody who is respected in hip-hop,”  Doja requested a fresh profile from Elle.

She revealed why she enjoys rap music: “When I was little, that’s kind of all I listened to,” she named Busta Rhymes and Lauryn Hill. “I’ve rapped since the beginning, and I really couldn’t even sing that well to begin with I got a lot better. I use my voice as a tool to create these worlds, and it’s fine if people think that I can’t rap.”

Remy Ma is one well-known figure that claims Doja isn’t a rapper. In a March appearance on Drink Champs, the legendary rapper commended Doja for making “dope recordings,” but claimed her music shouldn’t be  among rap music.

Doja later recognized Nicki Minaj as one of her key influences in the interview. They previously worked together on a remix of Doja’s “Say So.”

“I think her as a businesswoman really inspired me,” According to Doja. “The way Nicki can carry herself felt almost alien to me, because I was kind of a little runty kid, trapped in her room, just watching YouTube videos. And back then I was like, ‘Damn, that’s dope.’”

Nicki Minaj’s Father’s Killer Pleads Guilty To Two Counts Of Murder And Faces Prison Time

Nicki Minaj’s family is on the verge of receiving justice. Robert Maraj’s killer, Charles Polevich, entered a plea, according to TMZ, more than a year after his death.

The 71-year-old admitted to leaving the scene of an incident without reporting it and tampering with physical evidence, both felonies.

Polevich was facing a maximum sentence of seven years in prison, but Judge Howard Sturim has agreed to sentence him to only one year. “No more than one year in jail, along with community service and suspension of his driver’s license.”

According to Page Six, the motorist struck Maraj on February 12th, 2021, when he was crossing a street in Mineola. Polevich stepped out of his car and asked the victim if he was okay before fleeing the scene without offering any assistance or calling the cops.

Carol Maraj, Nicki Minaj’s mother, filed a $150 million lawsuit against Polevich in Nassau County’s state Supreme Court in March of last year. Ben Crump and Paul Napoli, attorneys at the time, stated, “[Polevich] was not only irresponsible and negligent but more concerned about running away and hiding than seeking help.”

“Polevich’s behaviour was criminal, cowardly, and immoral. We will hold him responsible for his reckless actions that led to Robert Maraj’s death!”

Nicki Minaj Reveals Fivio Foreign Inquired About Her Appearance On “What’s My Name”

Nicki Minaj and Fivio Foreign created an obvious smash with “We Go Up,” but did you know that the Queen Barb got a slot on his “What’s My Name” tune by the New York-born rapper?

If you’re unfamiliar with the song, it’s on Fivio’s debut B.I.B.L.E. album, which was out on April 8th and features Queen Naija and Coi Leray. The three-minute, 21-second title includes a sample of Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name,” and it became a fan favorite from the tracklist.

Nicki Minaj On “We Go Up” Video

Mama Minaj made it clear after the release of the music video for “We Go Up” that she won’t hesitate to “delay the album” if the video doesn’t do well. That doesn’t appear to be an issue as the clip was trending #1 only a few days ago.

The “Did It On ‘Em” recording artist came by the comment area to give a few words after the father of two submitted a joyous post. “The [fact that] you asked me to get on ‘Say My Name’ months ago, now even that’s [f*cking] outta here!!! YIKES. CONGRATULATIONS,”

Minaj also stated in a comment “Fivi n*ggaz ain’t even drop a bag on this song yet. No YouTube countdown/promo. No radio. No playlisting. You a real one. It’s [Up!].”

“As tempted as I was to make it a 2-3 minute song, nah man. [F*ck that]. All genuine love from the PEOPLE!!!” she added.

Young Thug Shares The Cover Art For His Next Music

Young Thug is the latest to join the list of announcements that have enthralled Hip Hop. Nicki Minaj recently released a music video that teased her awaited album, Pusha T’s It’s Almost Dry is on the road, and Kendrick Lamar stated this week that his new album will be out in May. Thugger surprised fans by sharing the cover art for his upcoming album, and fans can’t get enough of it.

Thugger closed his eyes, shirtless, and covered in blood in the photograph. Fans went wild with his caption.

“These past few weeks gave me so much to talk bout.. y’all ready??” he stated. People immediately assumed Thug would speak about the murder of LaKevia Jackson, the mother of his 14-year-old son. She got shot and died at a family entertainment facility during a bowling alley and a skating rink last month following a reported dispute or quarrel.

A man is reportedly arrested in connection with the slaying earlier this month, according to reports. Young Thug hasn’t said anything about his terrible death, but many believe the time has come for him to speak up.

Nicki Minaj Releases The Video For “We Go Up” With Fivio Foreign, Threatens Album Delay

Nicki Minaj has been working hard in the studio in preparation for the start of 2022. In March, she returned to Brooklyn to hire drill rhymer Fivio Foreign for “We Go Up.” Less than a month later, the New York natives are spinning the block for a gritty visual, which dropped on Tuesday (April 19).

Fivio chose the sour apple lime green sports car while Nicki chose the bright pink Lamborghini to race around the Big Apple. They paid honor to their birthplace by making New York City appear far more hospitable than the customary dismal days during the winter season.

Nicki Minaj Releases And Speaks On Her Fifth Studio Album

Last week, she stated on The Late Late Show with James Corden that her fifth studio album would be out before the summer of this year.

“I do know that it’s soon, and I do know that it’s a lot sooner than it’s ever been,” she said. “And I know that it’s coming this year. And I know that it’ll be out before the summertime.”

Nicki Minaj isn’t about to let the Barbz off the hook yet, threatening to postpone her album if the “We Go Up” video doesn’t do “what needs to be done” by any criteria.

“If y’all don’t do what needs to be done with the #WeGoUpVideo I will significantly and I DO mean significantly…delay the…the…the…oh what’s the word… oh! the album,” she wrote. “That’s right. *sighs* the album *devil wears Prada Meryl Streep voice*.”

6ix9ine Mocks Fivio Foreign's First Week Album Sales

6ix9ine Mocks Fivio Foreign’s First Week Album Sales

6ix9ine Mocks Fivio Foreign’s First Week Album Sales.

6ix9ine and Fivio Foreign are in a verbal spat, and as with most feuds featuring the “TROLLZ” rapper, it’s just going to get worse.

Fivio’s debut album B.I.B.L.E., which was released on Friday (April 8), is expected to sell 29,000 album-equivalent units in its first week, according to reports earlier this week. While that amount is expected to land 6ix9ine in the top 10 on the Billboard 200 for the first time, he is less than happy with the results.

6ix9ine On Fivio’s Sales Forecasts

On Wednesday (April 13), after seeing Fivio’s sales forecasts on DJ Akademiks’ Instagram page, the controversial rap figure — who has sold 55K, 66K, and 53K first-week copies across his first three releases — rushed into the comments area to mock his fellow New Yorker.

“This y’all king?” he wrote. “Not blackballed, all those features, the whole industry promoted that [crying face emojis] and now you Kanye and Nicki sidekick even they even tried to help you promote.”

The spat between Fivio Foreign and 6ix9ine began last week, sparked by rivalry for the title of “King of New York.”

Fivio, who claimed to be the successor to the late Pop Smoke’s throne on “City of Gods,” questioned 6ix9ine’s claim with a cryptic tweet after he said “the King of New York is coming back” while announcing his return to music.

“5 Billboards in Times Square, Top 5 songs in NY on Apple at once, & articles in both Daily News & NY Times,” he tweeted. “Don’t ever let that n*gga say he the King Of this city.”

Fivio Foreign and 6ix9ine aren’t the first rappers to fight for the title of “King of New York.” Following the tragic murder of The Notorious B.I.G. in 1997, JAY-Z and Nas famously fought for the title belt, while 50 Cent’s meteoric rise in the early 2000s generated competition with Ja Rule, Fat Joe, and Cam’ron.

Nicki Minaj Requests Punishment For The Lawyer Involved In The Sexual Assault

Nicki Minaj Requests Punishment For The Lawyer Involved In The Sexual Assault

Nicki Minaj Requests Punishment For The Lawyer Involved In The Sexual Assault.

Nicki Minaj and her lawyer Judd Burstein are going after attorney Tyrone Blackburn, who represented a woman called Jennifer Hough in a 2021 lawsuit accusing Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty of sexual assault. Per records obtained by Billboard.

Hough had previously cited Nicki in her lawsuit, alleging intimidation and harassment from the musician. The Pinkprint songwriter allegedly spent $30,000 on legal bills to defend herself against a “frivolous” lawsuit, which was subsequently dismissed without reason in January.

Nicki Minaj Requests Punishment For The Lawyer Involved In The Sexual Assault

Blackburn, according to Burstein, is a “bottom feeder lawyer” who only dismissed Minaj’s lawsuit after “forcing” her to pay the legal bills. Minaj and Burstein are now pursuing criminal charges against him.

“Mr. Blackburn’s conduct in this case has been disgraceful,” In a Monday filing, Burstein wrote: “He should be severely punished for it … so that, hopefully, other lawyers will understand that they have an obligation to their clients, the court, opposing counsel, and the legal profession itself not to pursue bad faith, frivolous, and indeed extortionate litigation in such a reprehensible manner.”

Burstein seeks that Blackburn pay Minaj’s legal fees and that a judge issue an order referring Blackburn to the court’s disciplinary committee for even harsher consequences.

Jennifer Hough and Kenneth Petty’s Case

Jennifer Hough filed a lawsuit in August 2021, alleging that Petty raped her in 1994 and forced her to remain silent. She claimed she had been “traumatized her entire life” and had been harassed by Minaj, Petty, and their “allies, legal teams, and fans” in the past.

“Nicki Minaj, directly and indirectly, reached out to plaintiff Hough’s family members to ensure plaintiff would recant her legitimate claim that defendant Petty raped her,” Hough stated at the time.

The case against Petty is still pending, with Hough requesting a default due to Petty’s slow response to the action.

Fivio Foreign Gets Flowers From Nicki Minaj For “B.I.B.L.E”

Fivio Foreign’s long-awaited album B.I.B.L.E was released this past Friday (April 8). The album has received positive reviews  particularly from Nicki Minaj. Nicki posted a photo of herself giving Fivio flowers on her Instagram story, complimenting him on his debut album.

“This fivio foreign album rlly hittin the mthafkn spot. Sooooo SOLID. Sonically authentic & well thought out. Cohesive body of work with a signature sound that is very true to where he’s from,” Nicki added to her story. “Kayccy is on both of his osngs. chloe bodied her verse. Loved coi too @fivioforeign_8fs,” she stated.

Fivio Foreign’s B.I.B.L.E

Fivio’s first full-length release since his blockbuster hit “Big Drip” two years ago is B.I.B.L.E. Quavo, A$AP Rocky, Lil Yachty, Polo G, Vory, KayCyy, Kanye West, Ne-Yo, and others make appearances on the 17-track album. The album also includes the single “City of Gods,” which features Alicia Keys and Ye and was previously released on Ye’s Donda 2.

Last week, the New York drill rapper stated that the lyrics to his song “What’s My Name” caused him problems in getting it cleared by Beyonce. The single, which features Queen Naija and Coi Leray, samples Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” from 1999. Beyonce would only clear the song if Fivio cleaned up the lyrics, according to Fivio.

Watch: Nicki Minaj Performs a Hilarious Adele Impression On "Carpool Karaoke"

Watch: Nicki Minaj Performs a Hilarious Adele Impression On “Carpool Karaoke”

Nicki Minaj performed with a perfect British accent, played the clarinet, rapped a freestyle, and opened up about her life in the spotlight.

Nicki Minaj was a fantastic guest for James Corden’s “Carpool Karaoke” segment, which returned to The Late Late Show after a two-year break.

As fans tuned in and clips began to circulate, the rap legend was trending No. 1 on Twitter. A spot-on Adele impersonation was the one that got the most attention.

Nicki Minaj is well-known for her alter egos, which include Roman Zolanski, her self-proclaimed favorite Brit. However, it turns out that her impersonation of British pop superstar Adele is both frighteningly accurate and hilarious.

Nicki Imitates Adele

“People pay for these sort of viral moments, you know what I mean?!” Minaj imitated Adele’s voice.

“It made me so, so happy,” Adele said when Corden asked about her reaction to Adele’s interpretation of Minaj’s “Monster” verse in a previous segment. Nicki Minaj was embodied in her!”

Nicki rapped a freestyle while James Corden demonstrated his beatboxing abilities. “You did good though,” she said. “On the white scale, it wasn’t that white.”

Nicki Opened Up About Her Experiences.

Nicki Minaj also talked about her nervousness and dealing with public scrutiny during the session.

“I think when I was younger, probably my more natural state was to be more confident. But I think when you are a woman and you’re in the public eye all the time, if you’re not careful, you can become less confident because you’re being constantly scrutinized,” she said. She also explained that chewing ice relieves her anxiety. “It’s not natural for a human being to just always feel like everyone’s critiquing them.”

Nicki, on the other hand, felt “an amazing sense of freedom” at the early days of her career because “nobody gave a f**k” about what she was doing. “It goes from that to the complete, complete opposite,” she opened up. “If I blink my eye wrong, they’ll have a story made up about why I blinked my eye that way,” she said.

Meanwhile, the rapper promoted her new apparel by flaunting her curvy rear end in just a thong on Instagram. She captioned the photo with lines from Lil Baby’s song “Do We Have A Problem,” revealing the new merchandise.
