Remy Ma Says Doja Cat Is More than a Rapper

Remy Ma talked about people twisting her comments about Doja Cat. During an interview session with REVOLT, Remy Ma revealed she didn’t mean Doja Cat is not a rapper but just complimenting her like, she’s kinda more than a rapper.

The host insisted she say what she said of which Remy Ma admitted. She said, “I say what I said but when I said it, I thought I was giving a compliment. Like, I didn’t say it like, no I just felt like that she’s more than a rapper. Now I don’t give a fuck, I don’t care, like I don’t even think about it.

“Like I was asked a question, I was in Drink Champs and that’s what they said so that’s what happened. But um, it was really meant as a compliment, but a lot of times, what happens, especially when it comes to us females the fan bases and the people that they say things and twist things around and make it a thing.”

Remy Ma Addresses Doja Cat’s Remarks

Remy Ma caused a commotion earlier this year when she stepped out and expressed her feelings about Doja Cat. Doja Cat, according to the experienced artist, is not a rapper. While some may see these statements as a dig at Doja, Remy was quick to point out that she thinks Doja is a brilliant artist who makes some really outstanding records.

“I don’t think she’s a rapper,” Remy said. “Let’s be clear with that. They put her in the rapper category, I don’t think she’s a rapper. But she makes dope records, and I think she’s dope.”

Remy appeared on the Black Compass podcast recently, where she discussed fight rap and her desire to support female musicians. Remy received a request to address the Doja Cat matter by one of the hosts. Her fans were furious, and it sparked a controversy regarding Doja’s music.

“I don’t think she’s a rapper,” Remy said. “Let’s be clear with that. They put her in the rapper category, I don’t think she’s a rapper. But she makes dope records, and I think she’s dope.”

With that in mind, it’s evident that Remy appreciates Doja Cat’s music. Doja, after all, has a slew of honors under her belt and is already a star in her own right.

Remy Ma Says Doja Cat Isn’t A Rapper

Remy Ma believes Doja Cat isn’t a rapper. Ebro Darden recently commented that Doja Cat has excellent rapping skills, although Ma does not agree with that notion. While having an interview with N.O.R.E and Champs’ DJ, the Terror squad quickly reveal the place of N.O.R.E when he pointed to the “Say So” artist as a “rapper.”

“I don’t think she’s a rapper,” She interjected. “Let’s be clear with that. They put her in the rapper category, I don’t think she’s a rapper. But she makes dope records, and I think she’s dope.”

Many people have reacted to her comments with various feedbacks on Twitter. Some were surprised at her comment while some others agreed with her.

“Is Doja Cat a rapper?” one person wrote. “mmm nah wouldn’t necessarily say that however, she does rap a lot of verses over pop beats. Sooo gotta agree with Remy Ma. She def dope af tho,” while another said, “Y’all have to understand where Remy Ma is coming from. She grew up in a time where artists were rapping, not singing. Doja Cat’s music is more pop than rap, and that’s a fact.”

Some were even angry over the interview, with one writing, “Remy Ma saying Doja Cat isnt a rapper just pissed me off. Bitch are YOU a rapper? What was the last song YOU released?”
