Tony Rock featured on the neighborhood with Big Boy and talked about his career and his relationship with Will Smith and the Chris Rock’s slap.
Big Boy asked him how he came in after Chris Rock and the rapper said, “Okay so I come in based on, like I said that Richard and the guys that inspired me and those guys were uh inspirations but they were just ideal to me. I never met one, I never talked to them but when the guy in the next room start doing comedy, it’s like okay, it made it real for me because I had never had a conversation before when he starts.”
When asked how he felt when Chris started doing comedy at 16, Tony Rock said, “It was really separated years apart because when he really started and started making moves in New York like a paid regular in the comedy scene in New York I was still getting up and going to school bus, right. When he came in and was like Hey I met Eddie Murphy last night. He’s gonna out me in this movie and I’m like I gotta to school in the morning.”
