The Grammy Award-winning vocalist has established himself as one of the best performers of rhythm and blues ever with more than two decades in the business. So much so that, in response to Diddy’s “R&B is dead” campaign, he defended his beloved genre, labeling the Bad Boy executive’s remarks as “crazy.” The singer said, “When I do hear folks, including Puff claiming ‘R&B is dead,’ he sounds nuts to me.” the singer share.”Knowing that he was a pioneer in recognizing it and benefiting from it, you know, makes it sound insane. You know, Hip Hop received its lifeblood from R&B, which is the genesis of the genre.”
Fans have attempted to compare Usher to other legendary rhythm and blues performers like Chris Brown because he is one of the R&B monarchs.
