Detroit rapper 42 Dugg is back in the game, officially freed from prison on Monday, October 16. He served a one-year sentence for failing to surrender himself and neglecting a six-month term following a 2020 federal gun investigation. Throughout his time behind bars, 42 Dugg kept the music flowing, dropping tracks like “One Time” just a couple of months ago. His eagerness to hit the studio is undeniable.

It’s a familiar move for rappers fresh out of incarceration, eager to express themselves through music. As one fan pointed out on theshaderoom’s Instagram post, “Took him straight to the studio 😂😂😂 – this is every ex-con’s first move.” YG also celebrated his freedom with an enthusiastic “Ayeeeeeee.” The excitement was captured in footage as Dugg was welcomed home.
42 Dugg’s boss, Yo Gotti, along with family and friends, came to pick him up. In front of a grand welcoming party, complete with a Rolls-Royce, Gotti and Dugg posed, raising their middle fingers for the camera. Moreover, Dugg’s release comes just in time for a potential appearance on the CMG Gangsta Art Tour, kicking off in Fort Worth, Texas, on November 22, as reported by TMZ.
