Ashanti Laughs When Asked If She Will Appear In Murder Inc Documentaries
When a TMZ cameraman stopped Ashanti and inquired about her involvement in the impending Murder Inc docuseries, it was all in good fun. In 2020, it was reported that a Murder Inc television series was in the works, but early this year, we learned that a docuseries was also in the works. Despite the fact that these two projects couldn’t be more dissimilar from one another, they will both celebrate the label’s heyday and show how it helped to create a unique period in Hip-Hop.
With artists like Ja Rule, Vita, Charli Baltimore, and Ashanti, Murder Inc. was dominating the charts because Irv Gotti and company knew how to create hits and hitmakers.
Like many industry partnerships, there are, nevertheless, unspoken dynamics that may lead to discord. Ashanti re-recorded her debut album in order to own the masters to her songs, and in December of last year, she said that her close buddy Ja Rule shies away from talking about it.
The singer was interviewed by TMZ regarding her presence in the upcoming five-part BET docuseries. First, they asked which song was the “hardest” that she “had to re-record,” and Ashanti simply said that since she has been singing the tracks for 20 years, there wasn’t anything tough about it.
Then they inquired as to whether or not they may expect to see her in the Murder Inc series. Ashanti replied, “No,” to which her mother and the performer both joined in the laughs. “You knew the answer to that question”, added a companion who didn’t appear to enjoy the question.
