Ja Rule Speaks on Paving the Way for Drake
Ja Rule featured on The Shade Room interview and spoke of paving the way for Drake.
He admitted that rappers borrow from one another. The host asked Ja Rule saying, “You know I always feel like, you know, you walked so Drake could run. Is that you know a sentiment you are agree with?”
Ja Rule answered “I mean I get my credit you know, because we all borrow from each other. Um, you know before me there was you know groups and artists you know Bone, Thugs-N-Harmony, you know. You had LL made. I need love method man-made, uh, you’re all I need was never you know those type of records did exist.“
Ja Rule continued, “I think what I did that was different and set me apart from everybody else was, one, I made it my own. Those are one-offs you know. “I need love” was one of them you know mine was more consistent but I also I’m created what I like to call the hip-hop and R&B duet.”
“Well you didn’t really know whose record it was, like when you know I’m real, is that Ja Rule record or is it Jennifer’s record.”
