Britney Spears (39) wasn’t the only celebrity to dress up for Halloween, but her Halloween photos have caused quite a bit of confusion. The singer posts a number of snapshots on Instagram where she is apparently dead on the floor. The story she wrote with the photos raises many eyebrows.

“We can still have some fun, right?”

The photos show Britney, covered in blood, lying on the floor in various poses. The distorted carpet clearly shows that the photos are also heavily photoshopped, but that’s not even what stands out the most. The photos are a bizarre Halloween story written about a girl who is found dead in her house. “She had been out with friends and the next day a neighbor found her on the floor,” she writes. “She had a wonderful family, but of course they weren’t around to help her.” It seems very likely that with this last sentence, Britney is throwing a sneer at her family and custody that she had to suffer for a whopping 13 years.

“It should be okay to escape into an imaginary world once in a while,” she continues. ‘In this crazy world we live in now, it’s important to stay safe, but we can still have some fun, right? That’s thirteen years ago for me, so I still need to get some momentum going. Mom and Dad, can I drive my own car now too?’
