DaBaby has always been a controversial person, even before he got his big break. The rapper gained headlines in 2018 after he got involved in a tragic shooting at a Walmart in Huntersville, North Carolina. 

The rapper claimed self-defense in the shooting of Jaylin Craig, 19, but security footage obtained by Rolling Stone reveals otherwise. The video sparked debate on social media, and Jaylin Craig’s family has spoken out about their dissatisfaction with the police investigation into his death.

Last night, DaBaby appeared to respond to the uproar on Twitter and Instagram. He released a clip from Tyrese’s heartbreaking 2017 video during his custody battle on his Instagram page. “No disrespect to my boy Tyrese man but what y’all n***as got going on bruh??” DaBaby stated. “Somebody behind the scenes on my ass ain’t it.”

He responded to that post on his Instagram Story, where he gave a more detailed answer, implying that the video surfacing is part of a larger plot to have him fired. “Like damn bruh,” he started. “N***as done took 30 million from me, lie on me once a week, want my fine ass BM’s to hate me, want me to lose fights I don’t start, WHAT MORE DO U WANT FROM MEEE?”

Given the rapper’s account of events, it’s evident that he was attempting to suggest that he was acting in self-defense, and that his life would have been in danger if he hadn’t shot the man.

The rapper escaped murder charges after a judge determined that he was acting in self-defense. Craig’s mother, LaWanda Horsley, has maintained since the shooting that her son committed no wrongdoing. Craig’s friend Henry Douglas, who was present at the moment of the shooting, claims that DaBaby was the one who began it all.

Rolling Stone provided this information in an investigative report. DaBaby lunges at Douglas before Craig intervenes to break up the fight, according to the new CCTV footage posted by the publication. The viewpoint shifts after that, and we only see DaBaby pull out his gun and shoot Craig.

Douglas tells Rolling Stone that he and Craig saw the rapper in Walmart and that Douglas wanted to make sure it was him. After passing the rapper several times in an aisle, he became enraged and had some words for them. “That’s what eventually started it; when he took it the wrong way,” Douglas stated. “We were trying to see who you are, and he took it as somebody is looking at him with a problem.”

Pusha T has been busy since releasing his fourth studio album after four years on Friday. Chopping it up with interviewers all around the country as he recounts how It’s Almost Dry came to be.

It’s Almost Dry Radio, the rapper’s new live program on Amp, will debut alongside the release of his new album, according to Complex. Push spoke with longstanding manager Steven Victor to discuss his work in the first episode, moderated by Idea Generation’s Noah Callahan-Bever.

Pusha T Reveals How His Project Started

“The project got started from me playing ‘Hear Me Clearly’ for Pharrell…And he told me that, it was okay,” the father of one recalled. “He shrugged….He stated, ‘Man I just think that you need to be more of a character.’ I told myself, once it was etched in stone that [Pharrell and Kanye] would each produce half of the album, I was going to go through the process.”

“Whatever their process is, I’m going to go through it in full to make sure I have exhausted whatever they wanted to do. I wanted it to be produced because my biggest thing was making an album better than Daytona.”

Push declined to work with Madlib due to the pressure he felt to exceed his 2018 release, though he did get several tracks from the famed producer. “I got some beats and they were actually chops from him. I just think he’s really dope at finding ill sounds and ill chops, and things of that nature.”

“But at the same time, it was feeling like a beat tape situation. I felt like to step it up I had to be produced – to step it up from Daytona. When you think about [my last album], it’s just beats and hard raps. I wasn’t produced. The structure of Kanye West you know, taking these things out or whatever the case may be. Honestly, it was just that. It’s Almost Dry is an exercise, definitely on the Pharrell side, in being produced.”

It’s Almost Dry: Pusha T’s Album First Week Sales Forecasts

 

Pusha T released “It’s Almost Dry” two days ago and sales forecasts is already out. The album is  to sell 50,000 to 55,000 copies in its first seven days, according to HitsDailyDouble. Album sales will account for between 4,000 and 6,000 of that total.

The album, which is his first since 2020, has 12 tracks and features Jay-Z, Lil Uzi Vert, Kid Cudi, and other musicians.

When asked about the title’s inspiration, Pusha told Rolling Stone, “I’m always creating a masterpiece and in the creation of that in terms of a painting… And you have to wait on masterpieces. Also in drug culture, a lot of times you’ll have people waiting on the product and it’s not dry yet. You can come get it when it’s dry.”

Kanye West and Pharrell, two of the most well-known producers in the music industry, collaborated on the album. On Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show, Pusha T contrasts the two musicians and explains how they influenced the process.

It’s Almost Dry: Push On Ye And Pharell’s Input

“Ye is just a Pusha T rap fanatic. He just wants me to rap all day long, and then he just wants to take them from me and edit them and do what he wants to do with it, right?” On the other hand, he claims Pharrell is more of a composer, saying, “He wants to make sure that every verse, every hook, every cadence, every flow, everything – he likes to call them ‘sticky moments’ – and just stays with you the whole time, throughout the whole song.” The rapper said.

It’s Almost Dry will embark on a 12-city tour starting in May.

According to TMZ, the couple went out on Saturday night (April 23rd) for the first time since the “F*ckin’ Problems” hitmaker’s arrest at LAX last week for his suspected involvement in a Hollywood shooting in November of 2021.

Rocky wore grey jeans with funky white designs, a matching hoodie, and a handful of colorful accessories around his neck, wrist, and waist, while the expecting parents kept their looks neutral in color.

BadGalRiRi kept it simple in black and white, leaving the buttons on her layered tops open to reveal a bralette underneath and her growing baby bump. She wore black and silver sparkly striped shorts on her legs to show off her tanned skin from her recent vacation in Barbados.

The 34-year-old had to cancel her baby shower few days ago due to her husband’s detention.
