Doja Cat Loses 200K Social Media Followers Following The Noah Schnapp Incident
Last week, Doja Cat called out Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp for releasing their direct messages, which put her in the middle of a wholly unneeded controversy. According to the legend, Doja asked Schnapp, then 17 years old, for Joseph Quinn’s contact information through a Direct Message. Doja lambasted Schnapp for sharing these DMs on his TikTok during an Instagram live session, even calling his acts “weasely in nature,” and the adolescent was also called out for posting them.
“Like, that’s like borderline snake s–t,” Doja said. “That’s like, weasel s–t. And like, I’m not saying that encapsulates his entire personality. Noah is not like the definition—like I wouldn’t imagine he is. Maybe he is?”
Doja was by no means supported by the internet in this argument. Fans believed that she was being incredibly cruel to someone who is practically still a child, and she received quick backlash on Twitter as a result. Some people were uneasy with the initial message that Doja Cat sent to the celebrity. It doesn’t matter whatever way you look at it; the famous musician was not spared.
The Shade Room reports that Doja lost 200K fans across all of her platforms as a result of the scandal, including some social media following. It simply goes to show who the support was going to this past week that Schnapp earned 1 million followers in the meantime.
