After American gymnast Simone Biles (24) already received a lot of support from various American stars and politicians after she withdrew from the Olympic gymnastics tournament due to her mental health, Justin Bieber (27) has now also shown his condolences for her. The singer says via social media that he is ‘extremely proud’ of her.

“I’m so proud you’ve decided to retire”

“No one will ever be able to understand the pressure you’ve been under. I know we don’t know each other personally, but I’m so proud that you’ve decided to back off. You can have the whole world in your hands, but if you ignore your own soul, it’s worth nothing,” Justin said.

He continues: ‘Sometimes saying ‘no’ is much more powerful than saying ‘yes’. If something that normally gives you great joy suddenly doesn’t feel right anymore, then you need to take a step back to find out why you feel that way. People told me at the time that I was crazy to stop halfway through my Purpose tour, but for me that was the best decision I’ve ever made for my mental health. Simone Biles, I’m insanely proud of you!’
