Is this why Ben Affleck is keeping his shirt on?

Now that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are once again a dream couple, fans on social media have surfaced an old interview with statements that have spawned quite a few jokes.

It turns out that in an interview in 2016 Jennifer Lopez gave a lot of credit to the tattoo Ben Affleck took on his back of a phoenix that rose from the flames. “It’s horrible,” Lopez said. “And I’d tell him that too. I’d ask him what the hell he’s up to. The tattoo has way too many colors.”

That’s what she thinks of all his tattoos. “They shouldn’t be so colorful, you know what I mean. They need to be a little cooler.” Affleck stated in a Show in 2019 that the tattoo had a lot of meaning for him. “It represents something very important to me. I’ll keep that private, but I love my tattoo. I am very happy with it.”

Affleck got the tattoo of the phoenix in 2015, when he was just divorcing his then-wife Jennifer Garner. Fans joke about what the heck he’ll get for a tattoo if Jennifer Lopez breaks up with him. And they wonder if he’s found a tattoo shop yet that can remove tattoos. “Jennifer Lopez is going to get Ben Affleck to get that tattoo on his back removed. I’m happy for him!” Another: “I bet J-Lo wants Ben to keep his shirt on. She has no patience for that cheap tattoo.”

Coincidence or not, in the photos taken of the two lovebirds on their weekend getaway for Jennifer Lopez’s birthday, Ben Affleck was indeed still wearing his shirt; in fact, he still had all his clothes on, while the singer posed in a bikini.
