Suge Knight UNLOADS on Drake: Thinks He’s a Culture Vulture for Using AI to Mimic 2Pac’s Voice

In a scathing critique, legendary music executive Suge Knight has lambasted rapper Drake for utilizing AI technology to mimic the voice of the late Tupac Shakur in his recent diss track “Taylor Made Freestyle,” aimed at Kendrick Lamar. Suge Knight, who played a pivotal role in 2Pac’s career, vehemently disapproves of Drake’s move.

Furthermore, Suge Knight also took aim at Snoop Dogg, a longtime friend and collaborator of 2Pac’s, suggesting that Snoop played a role in 2Pac’s downfall. Knight believes it was a mistake to feature 2Pac on a song with Snoop, implying that it wasn’t a good look for 2Pac’s legacy.

Knight’s harsh words are going to create a buzz and heated debate in the hip-hop community. Who do you support? Are you going to defend Drake’s creative choice or side with Knight’s sentiment? It’s a controversy that’s going to raise questions about the ethics of using AI to mimic the voices of legendary artists and the responsibility that comes with paying homage to hip-hop’s greats.

What do you think? Did Drake cross a line, or is Suge Knight overreacting? Share your thoughts!

Snoop Dogg

Snoop Dogg’s Response to Drake’s New Release of AI Tupac Diss Track

Snoop Dogg has reacted to Drake’s new single on his IG. Snoop Dogg and Tupac were close friends and collaborators during their time together in the 90s on the West Coast rap scene. They were part of the Death Row Records family and made iconic music together like “California Love” and “Gangsta Party.” Sadly, Tupac passed away in 1996.

Snoop Dogg and Drake have a friendly, but not necessarily close, relationship.  There haven’t been any major collaborations between them, but Snoop Dogg has shown Drake respect, calling him talented on occasion.  The recent situation with the AI Tupac diss track on Drake’s IG is a bit unusual. It  doesn’t necessarily reflect Snoop Dogg’s personal feelings towards Kendrick Lamar.

Snoop Dogg seems to have a respectful relationship with Kendrick Lamar.  Kendrick is another prominent West Coast rapper, and Snoop Dogg has acknowledged his talent. There haven’t been any major collaborations between them either, but there’s no animosity.  The AI Tupac diss track might be more about Drake’s creative direction than a personal attack from Snoop Dogg on Kendrick.

Drake Sparks Controversy with AI-Powered Tupac & Snoop Dogg Diss Track on IG

In a move sure to ignite the hip-hop world, Drake dropped a new song on his Instagram page featuring AI-generated verses from rap legends Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg.  The track, titled “West Coast Reppin’,” quickly went viral, but for reasons Drake might not have anticipated.

While the song boasts a catchy beat and Drake’s signature smooth flow, the controversy lies in the AI-generated Tupac and Snoop Dogg verses.  Both legends appear to be taking aim at Kendrick Lamar, with lyrics that many interpret as veiled disses.  Lines like “King of the West Coast? More like king of retreats” (referencing Kendrick’s perceived absence from the mainstream) and “Came in hot, fizzled out like a sparkler” (possibly referencing a decline in Kendrick’s recent work) have fans divided.

The use of AI to impersonate deceased artists has already sparked ethical discussions, and this latest move by Drake throws gasoline on the fire.  Whether this is a clever marketing ploy by Drake or a genuine artistic exploration remains to be seen.  One thing is for sure: the hip-hop community is waiting with bated breath for Kendrick Lamar’s response.

Glasses Malone Takes Aim at Drake: Is Drizzy Truly Hip-Hop or a ‘Colonizer’?

Glasses Malone, known for his unfiltered opinions, isn’t one to mince words. On a recent episode of the Holdin’ Court podcast, he delved into the hot topic of Drake’s place in the hip-hop realm. For some, the debate revolves around whether Drake can even be considered a hip-hop artist.

Glasses Malone Takes Aim at Drake: Is Drizzy Truly Hip-Hop or a ‘Colonizer’?

While this perspective was more prevalent a decade ago, Malone still champions it. In his eyes, Drake, like Madonna, doesn’t fit the hip-hop mold. He asserts that Drizzy’s upbringing in a middle-class, Jewish community disqualifies him from the genre, going as far as labeling him a “colonizer” of hip-hop.

The contentious nature of Malone’s comments is undeniable, sparking disagreement among fans. But the question remains: Is Drake a hip-hop icon, or does he, as Malone suggests, fall outside the culture? Join the conversation in the comments below and let us know where you stand. J. Cole’s regrets His First No. 1 Single Being a “Drake Alley-Oop”

In a candid moment on Lil Yachty’s A Safe Place podcast, J. Cole admitted to having mixed feelings about his first-ever No. 1 single, “First Person Shooter.” While he is grateful for the achievement, part of him wishes it didn’t come as an “alley-oop” from his good friend Drake. He expressed that if it had peaked at No. 2, it wouldn’t have bothered him, but achieving No. 1 with a Drake collaboration brought mixed emotions.

J. Cole’s regrets His First No. 1 Single Being a “Drake Alley-Oop”

Despite his friendly competition with Drake, J. Cole stated, “I’d almost feel better not having my first No. 1 being off a Drake alley-oop. I love Drake, and I love that I’m a part of that moment with him like Michael Jackson.”

J. Cole gave credit to the fact that both his and Drake’s fans still purchase singles, contributing to “First Person Shooter” topping the Hot 100. The track sold 4,000 digital copies in its first week and garnered 42.2 million streams and 4.3 million radio airplay audience impressions.

This achievement also tied Drake with Michael Jackson, both having 13 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. J. Cole had previously come close to the top spot with “My Life” in 2021 and “All My Life,” his collaboration with Lil Durk earlier this year, both peaking at No. 2.

While fans may debate who had the best verse on the track, J. Cole gave a shoutout to Ice Cube’s BIG3 basketball league in “First Person Shooter,” which garnered appreciation from the N.W.A legend.
