Young Thug is still behind bars as part of the YSL gang indictment. Thug, Gunna, and a slew of other YSL members were arrested just over a month ago as part of a massive RICO investigation involving YSL members. Prosecutors claim that Thug was the mastermind behind a number of crimes and that he instructed others to commit violent acts on YSL’s behalf. They’re claiming that Young Stoner Life was a gang, not a record label, a claim that has been debunked by many in the music industry.

Thug was again denied release for the second time yesterday, and he will now have to stay in jail until his trial. There’s a recorded video of the court hearing and one segment has gone popular on social media. This video reveals the inhumanity of prison and how, for the most part, prisoners’ legitimate concerns are not taken seriously.

Thug politely requests permission to use the restroom because he has been holding it in for a long time. The rapper appeared dejected about the situation, and people on the video call laughed at him as soon as he asked the question.

Thankfully, the judge sided with him in this case and told everyone to stop laughing. Thugger was then given a five-minute break to relieve himself.

The video is depressing, and it’s evident that Young Thug is going through a difficult time. For the time being, the lawsuit is just getting started, and it could take months or even a year to complete.

Young Thug Denied Bond In RICO Case After Prosecutors Call Him “One Of The Most Dangerous Men”

Young Thug will remain behind bars, despite Kevin Liles’ dramatic testimony on the witness stand. We just got word that 300 Entertainment CEO Kevin Liles was defending Thugger’s character in court. A RICO indictment named Thug and 27 others, including Gunna, alleging that YSL is a criminal street gang involved in theft, murder, and other illegal crimes. Thug is also accused of being involved in the stabbing of YFN Lucci in jail and the shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus, according to prosecutors.

“This whole thing that people are talking about, that’s not him. The Jeffrey I know? The Jeffrey I know would give me the clothes off of his back. The Jeffrey I know? I can give him my kids, he could give me his kids. That’s the Jeffrey I know,” Liles stated. He also spoke out against the use of lyrics as proof.

Despite the “Free Gunna” and “Free Young Thug” efforts, Thugger was reportedly denied bond. Thug, according to Judge Ural Glanville, constitutes a menace and should remain behind bars. Prosecutors said he’s “King Slime” and one of “the most dangerous persons here.”

Rappers are recently paying close attention to this case for good measure, especially since lyrics are set to be a big part of it. In The Shade Room’s comment area, The Game chimed in with his comments, labeling the prosecutors’ remarks “some sucka sh*t.”

Cordae Demands Young Thug And Gunna’s Release Following YSL’s Indictment

Cordae is campaigning for the release of Young Thug, Gunna, and the other YSL members named in the group’s enormous 56-count indictment issued last month. On Wednesday, the rapper from From a Birds Eye View tweeted his support for YSL.

“Free the Whole YSL Family! They showed me more genuine love than damn near anybody!” In his first post, Cordae wrote.

He then added: “Protect Black Art! Also Using Lyrics against someone on trial is nuts! It’s a form of self expression that shouldn’t be used in a literal sense especially in a court of law!!!”

On May 9th, YSL’s 28 members were charged. Following a raid on Thug’s home, he was charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and participation in criminal street gang activity. Gunna is charged with one count of RICO conspiracy.

Several lyrics from songs by the musicians were part of evidence in the indictment. Several songs from YSL’s Slime Language 2 compilation album, due out in 2020, were among them, including “Take it to Trial,” “Ski,” and “Slatty.”

Cordae isn’t the only one who thinks rap lyrics should be used as proof. Bobby Shmurda supported a bill in New York that would limit their use in court.

Roddy Ricch Demands Gunna’s Release

Roddy Ricch posted an encouraging message on his Instagram Story on Friday (May 27). The rapper is undoubtedly hurt by the arrests of Gunna and Young Thug.

“Free @gunna we miss you out here champ Moms praying 4 u,” Roddy Ricch posted.

Gunna will be stuck in prison for the foreseeable future, so he will need all of the help he can get from the outside world.

The YSL rapper and the Compton native have previously collaborated on tracks including “Start Wit Me,” “Don’t I,” “COOLER THAN A BITCH,” and the “Too Easy” remix.

In an 88-page and 56-count indictment, Gunna was detained alongside Young Thug and 26 other YSL affiliates. The 28-year-old is charged with one count of conspiring to violate the RICO Act (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act).

Prosecutors said the “Pushin P” rapper is a “proven gang member” who was controlling the shots for YSL with Young Thug.

The Court Denied Gunna Bond

On May 23, Gunna was previously denied bond, and his trial has been scheduled for January 9, 2023. The court indicated that he denied the rapper’s bond because he was concerned about possible witness tampering. Gunna’s defense team is adamant that he is not guilty in the matter.

“Mr. Sergio Kitchens, known as Gunna, is innocent,” Gunna’s attorneys said to TMZ. “The indictment falsely portrays his music as part of a criminal conspiracy. Mr. Kitchens has been an advocate for his community, and it is our privilege to advocate for him.”

Young Thug And Gunna Indictment Highlights The Use Of Rap Lyrics As Evidence In Court

Young Thug was not granted bail and will remain in Fulton County Jail for the foreseeable future. After his arrest in May on accusations of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organization (RICO) Act alongside 26 other YSL associates, including Gunna.

After digging deeper into the 56-count indictment, ABC News discovered that various Thugger tracks and lyrics from 2016 to 2021 are being cited and used against him as evidence in the case. Among the Thug songs are “Anybody,” “Take it to Trial,” “Ski” featuring Gunna and “Slatty.”

The prosecution is justifying its use of lyrics in court, claiming that Thug’s statements are “preserving, protecting and enhancing the reputation, power, and territory of the enterprise [YSL].”

Fani Willis, the Fulton County District Attorney, believes YSL is directly responsible for “over 50” homicides caused by gun violence since 2015.

Thugger’s “Slatty” verse, in which he raps, is widely highlighted in the indictment. “I killed his man in front of his momma, like fuck lil’ bruh, sister and his cousin/I shoot out/Kill ’em, not leaving a trace.”

Young Thug’s attorneys will make their bond arguments in court on June 2. Prosecutors have also filed a motion to remove Thug’s lawyer, Brian Steel, from the case due to an alleged conflict of interest.

Gunna Denied Bail In The Atlanta RICO Case Against YSL

Gunna and Young Thug were unexpectedly caught and imprisoned on RICO charges just a few weeks ago. There are currently 28 YSL members in prison, and the situation does not appear to be favorable for anyone involved. However, prosecutors have charged Young Thug of being the ringleader of YSL, and they believe he was in the planning of several violent actions.

The rapper found himself in it all, and he and his lawyer appeared before a court to request release. He wasn’t given bond, according to reporter Jewel Wicker, while his trial date got scheduled for January 9th, 2023. However, he’s currently suspected of being a YSL commander who played a key role in a number of violent incidents.

“I was just in court where a judge denied bond for Gunna and set his trial date for Jan. 9, 2023. Prosecutors allege YSL is a gang, not just a record label. They also alleged Gunna serves in a “command” role,” Wicker stated. “Prosecutors said Gunna is a “documented” gang member and that he and Williams “direct their troops” to commit violent acts. The judge said his biggest concern was witness tampering. Gunna’s attorney can file a renewed motion for bond at a later date.”

Gunna Surrenders To Authorities After The YSL Indictment

Gunna, Young Thug, and 26 other people indicted on RICO charges. Gunna is currently in police detention, according to CBS46, after his name appeared in the 56-count indictment. Gunna, whose true name is Sergio Kitchens, faces a charge with one count of RICO conspiracy.

According to Complex, Gunna’s name appeared in the RICO indictment against YSL on five different counts. They said he committed criminal drug possession with the intent to distribute (methamphetamine, marijuana, and hydrocodone). Gunna was also charged with stealing and receiving stolen stuff. The allegations’ merits, on the other hand, are mostly based on social media activities, such as the rapper wearing a YSL chain and promoting the brand on social media.

Fulton County D.A. Fani Willis warned during a press conference on Tuesday that members of street gangs will face criminal charges.

“As the District Attorney of Fulton County my number one focus is targeting gangs, and there’s a reason for that, they are committing conservatively 75 to 80% of all of the violent crime that we are seeing within our community and so they have to be rooted out of our community,” she stated. “It does not matter what your notoriety is, what your fame is if you come to Fulton County Georgia and you commit crimes, and certainly if those crimes are in furtherance of street gangs that you are going to become a target and a focus of this district attorney’s office, and we are going to prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.”

According to WSB-TV, the allegations include conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act, murder, armed robbery, and involvement in criminal street gang activity.

While Gunna’s situation is not as terrible as Thugger’s, he will still face a legal struggle whenever he got apprehended.
