Beyoncé and Jay Z’s Mansion in New Orleans on Fire
A fire that broke out in a mansion believed to be owned by Beyoncé and Jay Z is being investigated for possible arson.
New Orleans Police confirmed the report of a suspect in the area at around 6:20 p.m. on Wednesday, July 21, when the fire allegedly erupted.
The New Orleans Mansion that was set on fire appears to have started from the kitchen.
According to Nola.com, firefighters found books in an oven and a gas cylinder was also found on the property. A neighbor also said that police believed the house had been broken into shortly before the blaze. It took 22 firefighters more than two hours to extinguish the fire.
August Arther said, “I was walking around the corner with my dog… and saw a lot of smoke coming out of it.
“My next door neighbor, she saw a guy jump over the fence behind Harmony and Eigth.”
Officers from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were spotted on the property on July 22.
“If they hadn’t been there things could have been a lot worse. It’s a historic house,” a fire department spokesperson told The New York Post.
The beautiful home, valued at $2.4 million, has been owned by a management company called Sugarcane Park LLC since 2015, according to The
Mirror. At the helm of the company is Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles.
