50 Cent stopped paying child support to his eldest son, Marquise Jackson, in 2017. But  the 25-year-old hasn’t stopped talking about his financial situation with his estranged father.

The younger Jackson recently participated in an Instagram Live session with former rapper Choke No Joke, where they talked about the awful effects that child support disputes can have on families.

The eldest Fif revealed to his co-host that, in his opinion, the $6,700 monthly salary he received from his well-known father wasn’t nearly enough to live comfortably in New York City.  “You’re talking about a Forbes lister, you’re talking about someone that has problems with everybody, you can’t just live in any neighbourhood,” Marquise explained, sharing his side of the story.

“$81,000 is not a substantial amount of money,” he added. “You can’t just live anywhere. You talking about you got beef with everybody in the industry, you can’t just live anywhere.”

Choke responded by saying that if his father is paying him $6,700, then his mother Shaniqua Tompkins must be receiving the other half, making his monthly child support payment equal to about $13,500. Jackson’s mother ought to be in charge of looking after him, he added, but Marquise persisted in advancing his earlier position.

Cole has had the honor of working with some of Hip Hop’s top producers throughout his career but the Dreamville boss has passed up a fair number of hot beats from No I.D.

The Grammy-winning beatmaker recently discussed Cole’s practice of sharing his instrumentals on Spotify’s RapCaviar Podcast, admitting it even turned into a “running joke” between the two of them.

“I used to have a running joke with J. Cole like, ‘Yo, I gotta do a session with you so I can do a beat that you’re not going to use, that I can get off,’” he told host Brandon “Jinx” Jenkins with a smile.

No I.D. continued as he mentioned how during a two-week period in the studio, J. Cole rejected the beats for Big Sean’s “Control” and “My Last,” Nas’ “Stay,” and Rick Ross‘ “Tears of Joy.”

N“It was like a week or two we was working in the beginning,” he continued. “For him, I did the ‘Control’ beat, Nas ‘Stay,’ ‘Tears of Joy,’ ‘My Last’ and something else. And it was just like, ‘Nah, that ain’t it.”

Cole did end up working with No I.D. on “Never Told” from his 2011 debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story despite rejecting a number of his beats. The 2009 recording of “Stay” by Cole later appeared on his 2013 EP Truly Yours.

Ozzy Osbourne gave Trick Daddy permission to sample his work, and the upfront cost to use the sample was also more than acceptable, according to Trick Daddy.

The Miami OG described how he came to borrow Osbourne’s 1980 song “Crazy Train” on his successful single “Let’s Go,” which featured Lil Jon and Twista, in an interview with HipHopDX on the red carpet at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards.

“When I heard that the original owner of the song loved the fact that I wanted to redo a sample of his beat and it wasn’t gonna take that much? I was ready to do that,” he said.

The 2004 Trick Daddy record, which was produced by Jim Jonsin and Bigg D, included a number of elements from Osbourne’s original, and the agreements allowed Osbourne residual rights from those uses.

“Of course, I gave him his share,” Trick continued. “But as far as upfront money, it was pennies.”

From Trick Daddy’s sixth studio album Thug Matrimony: Married to the Streets, “Let’s Go” was the lead single. The album also included the regional hit “Sugar,” which featured Ludacris and CeeLo Green, as well as guest appearances from Jeezy, T.I., and Trey Songz. The album is still Trick Daddy’s best-performing release on the chart and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.

The U.S. Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart, which at the time comprised two distinct charts, eventually placed the album at the top. The most popular song in Trick’s discography to date, “Let’s Go,” was a major factor in the project’s popularity.

Young Thug joked about trying to escape from prison when he tweeted on Wednesday asking 23-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps for tips on how to swim back to land from 100 miles out to sea. In connection with the most recent 56-count RICO indictment against his Young Slime Life record company, Thug is currently in custody awaiting trial on a number of crimes.

“I’m talking with my roommate and we’re wondering if you could swim 100 miles from the middle of the ocean back to shore,” Thug mentioned Michael Phelps in a tweet.

“U tryna escape,” In reaction to the post, one fan wrote.

Yet another joked: “Oh nah they moved him to Alcatraz.”

Phelps has not yet replied to the tweet.

It was revealed earlier this month that Thug’s trial date would be January 9, 2023. The prosecution’s use of rap lyrics will be a very contentious aspect of the trial.

At a news conference, Fulton County District Attorney Fanni Willis recently defended the use of music in court, saying, “If you decide to admit your crimes over a beat, I’m gon’ use it… People can continue to be angry about it, [but] I have some legal advice: Don’t confess to crimes on rap lyrics if you do not want them used — or, at least, get out of my county.”

Tekashi 6ix9ine and his partner Jade have been having a difficult few days. They have apparently been together for about three years, and even when 6ix9ine has come under fire for his antics, online disputes, or legal troubles, Jade has been by his side. In the midst of the rapper’s recent admission that he had been in a “dark place” and needed to take a break from his profession to tend to his mental health, word of Jade’s arrest broke.

According to an earlier allegation, Jade, whose real name is Rachel Wattley, was detained after an alleged physical incident with 6ix9ine in a restaurant.

He allegedly informed police that Jade struck him, and when a nearby officer noticed 6ix9ine arguing with his girlfriend and inquired about the restaurant’s security, they apparently confirmed the rapper’s account.

Jade soon reappeared with an update despite subsequent allegations that she had been kept behind bars as 6ix9ine fought to secure her release. She claimed that 6ix9ine had nothing to do with the fact that she was already released from prison.

Jade posted a screenshot of her documentation to her Instagram Story along with the caption, “My sister bailed me out stop the fake narratives.” Additionally, she posted a photo of herself in jail with GloRilla’s “F.N.F.” playing in the background. Jade is accused of domestic abuse, therefore it’s unknown how her relationship with 6ix9ine is doing. The pair has a child together.

The eagerly anticipated Young Money reunion in Toronto appears to be postponed from its originally planned date of August 1st. After testing positive for COVID-19, Drake said that his Toronto party with Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj will be postponed. The rapper said he would reschedule the festival as soon as his test came back clean, though he hasn’t said when that may be.

“I am truly devastated to say that I tested positive for COVID and the Young Money reunion show scheduled for tonight is being rescheduled to the SOONEST date possible. I will keep the city posted and share the new date whenever we have it locked. Until then I hope everyone stays safe and healthy and I love you all I am so sorry for letting you down on our weekend together and the moment I test negative I will give you everything I got on stage (except the COVID),” he stated.

The All Canadian North Stars concert, which featured classic hip-hop and R&B performers who helped establish Canada’s music culture, served as the opening act for the rapper’s OVO Fest on Thursday. As the Florida rapper spoke to Chris Too Smoove via TikTok and described the cost of his fit, Kodak Black is obviously a huge flexer in this area. He was under home arrest, but he still included his ankle monitor.

The “Super Gremlin” artist disclosed that he spent $1 million on his grill and about $3 million on the chain collection around his neck. Naturally, Kodak also demonstrated that managing so much leak might be challenging. He just said “it depends” when asked about his jacket. The 25-year-old said that his yellow shorts cost him 50 racks of clothing. Chris enquired about Kodak’s ring as well, to which he only replied that it was “expensive” and that he had fashioned it himself with diamonds from Haiti.

Kodak’s outfit also included personalized Nikes, which he said were made in Haiti, as another nod to his ancestry. He didn’t stop with the kicks though. He wanted to point out his “expensive” ankle bracelet and the ankle monitor that was discussed earlier, both of which cost $200,000, as well.

Following his recent arrest, Kodak recently expressed his displeasure with his sentencing, citing character assassination in light of his significant community services. Recently, Lil Uzi Vert spoke out in favor of his fellow 2016 XXL Freshman. Kodak continued to play despite his incarceration, giving a crazy performance at Rolling Loud Miami 2022 and making a surprise appearance during Kendrick Lamar’s headline set.
