Bobby Shmurda In The Middle Of The Street, Surrounded By Fans

Bobby Shmurda, a rapper, was out of prison in February of last year. A takedown of his crew, GS9, landed the New York native in jail. Despite taking on a heavier term for his friend, Rowdy Rebel, he was out ten months early after spending years in prison.

Artists in the business lavished him with love as soon as he returned home. Quavo, a member of the Migos, even flew him out of prison in a private jet. Chris Brown, 21 Savage, 50 Cent, and Meek Mill were among the celebs that greeted the rapper with warm arms after his release.

Aside from business insiders, his tens of thousands of followers were also eager for him to return, and despite the fact that he’s been away for a year, they’re still treating him like a newcomer.

Bobby Surrounded By Fans

A mob gathered around Bobby, whose true name is Ackquille Jean Pollard, in the street, according to video footage shared by music and culture pundit DJ Akademiks. The “Hot N*gga” rapper beamed from ear to ear as he signed autographs, took selfies, and hugged his admirers as he went through the crowd.

He gave his fans exactly what they wanted in person, and now he’s giving them exactly what they want musically. However, he released “They Don’t Know,” his first single as an independent artist, on all streaming platforms on April 29. Bobby said in a post promoting his new album that he was being ignored by major labels.

He stated, “… I got major Lables jumping me Blackballing me and shittttt and I’m from the hood young and rich black as shittt and don’t give a about both and they Scare of me and I love that ishhh.”

The record reportedly sold 295,500 album-equivalent units, outselling Bad Bunny’s Un Verano Sin Ti, which sold 274,000 album-equivalent units earlier this month, and Future’s I Never Liked You, which sold 222,000.

Over the course of 18 tracks, Lamar worked with Ghostface Killah, Kodak Black, Baby Keem, Blxst, Sampha, Summer Walker, and others. Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers is Lamar’s final album with Top Dawg Entertainment, his long-time label.

Machine Gun Kelly Posts Naked Pic From “Good Mourning” Set

Machine Gun Kelly released a naked shot from the set of his upcoming film, Good Mourning, on Instagram. Megan Fox, Pete Davidson, Whitney Cummings, and other actors appear in the film, which was out on May 20.

“i did 5 whole sit ups (and 200 blunts) to prep for my role in Good Mourning,” Kelly wrote in the mirror selfie.

Lil Skies replied to Kelly’s message by asking to star in the next film: “I gotta be in the next one so sick good shit brother!”

“This is your greatest post yet,” Mod Sun added.

Kelly plays London, a musician who receives a mysterious text from his girlfriend in this stoner comedy. Kelly claims that the plot got inspired by a real-life incident with Megan Fox, in which he believed his fiancée was cheating on him over text. It was all a misunderstanding in the end.

“I wrote the movie for her because she was unknowingly the cause of the spiral,” Kelly addressed Extra about the film ahead of its debut. “[My character] spirals over a text that he doesn’t really understand and he can’t get a hold of her, and that was what was happening to me.”

Lil Pump Brings On Stage A Man In A Wheelchair, Who Then Wows The Crowd

Lil Pump performed at the Metro Metro Festival in Montreal on Friday (May 20). While the Canadian audience was ecstatic to see Pump perform, it was a member of the audience who stole the night.

Pump noticed a fan in a wheelchair in the audience while he played, clearly enthusiastic for the opportunity. Pump requested that the fan come on stage, and the audience agreed, pushing him and his wheelchair onto the stage. As soon as Pump resumed his routine, the fan not only did a backflip in his wheelchair, but he also achieved a handstand, much to the delight of the crowd.

Lil Pump’s first festival performance of the year took place alongside a massive roster at Metro Metro Fest, which included 50 Cent, Lil Baby, Don Toliver, Polo G, Sheck Wes, DaBaby, Lil Tecca, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, and a slew of other artists.

While Pump’s Friday performance brought him some joy. However, he gets haunted by feuds with luminaries. In 2020, he took aim at Eminem, alleging that the upcoming Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee was “lame as fuck” and that “nobody was listening” to him. After growing tired of seeing younger musicians disrespect older performers who paved the way. Renowned New York City DJ Kid Capri released a brand new album named The Love in February.

Lil Baby was the main act on Saturday night. In typical festival fashion, he used his time on stage to bring out a very special guest  Drake  to sing their hit collaboration “Girls Want Girls,” from Champagne Papi’s Certified Lover Boy album.

Lil Baby couldn’t visit Canada without bringing his best friend with him.

While we’ve already seen performances from Trippie Redd, Tory Lanez, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, Don Toliver, Polo G, Sheck Wes, and Lakeyah. We still have Lil Tecca, DaBaby, and 50 Cent to watch today at the Montreal Metro Metro Festival.

Drake and Baby have already showed their affection for one another on the road. But in 2018, the latter joined the former for the final stop of his Aubrey & The Three Amigos Tour in Atlanta, Georgia.

D Smoke Remembers Meeting Alicia Keys Prior To Going On Tour With Her

D Smoke recently reflected on how he came to collaborate with Alicia Keys and eventually accompany her on tour. After the release of his debut album Black Habits, Smoke, who won Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow in 2019, got nominated for Best Rap Album and Best New Artist at the 63rd Annual Grammy Awards.

Smoke claims that she invited Keys to a video shoot after contacting him. Swizz Beatz and Snoop Dogg were also on scene.

“I think I reached out to her as a fan and I thought she would be great to work with,” In a story published on Saturday, HipHopDX quoted him as saying. “I reached out and she invited me to her video shoot. Swizz Beatz was there, Snoop and his wife were there, everybody was there. She had this big, grand piano on his platform in the middle of the room. They were setting up another shot and I asked her if I could get up and play. She was like, ‘Please. Do you.’ So I was going ham into this classical piece, ‘Fantasie Impromptu’ and she’s over there, like, ‘What the f**k?’ She said, ‘N***a, I didn’t know.’ That’s when the wheels started turning and we knew we had to do something.”

Then, throughout the summer, Keys persuaded Smoke to accompany him on THE ALICIA + KEYS WORLD TOUR.

“She invited me to a show as her guest,” he says. “It was like a release party and afterward, I started off playing some classical music piano. Then she started playing some jazz stuff. Then she would play and I would play and it was just a dope musical exchange. So that moment was just a milestone for me because she is one of those people that influenced my artistry. And to be invited to perform with her on the Alicia and the Keys World Tour is just a blessing.”

DJ Khaled Says He’s Working On An Album With 21 Savage

DJ Khaled has almost 15 years of experience in the music industry. Beyonce, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, and others have had songs produced by him. KHALED KHALED, a studio album featuring Drake, Bryson Tiller, Justin Timberlake, and other artists, was out last year.

The 46-year-old now appears to be ready to abandon yet another project. On May 18, the father of two revealed what he’s been up to in an Instagram post to his 28 million followers.

21 Savage sat in front of a microphone in the first of eight photos in his carousel. According to his caption, “WE THE BEST LIKE DJ KHALED @21savage VOICE. Album mode, it’s special!”

The DJ also shared images of him and 21 conversing, a boomerang of him dancing to an unknown tune, and a shot of him flaunting his fancy watch.

This follows Khaled’s admission that no one can beat him in a Verzuz combat. When asked who he would like to be with, he said, “I really don’t see nobody. My catalog is super strong… I mean that with love.” He elaborated further by saying that he’s been in the game for a long time. “You might want to Google it… I’ve been doing this sh*t for two decades. Khaled got hits.”

Lupe Fiasco Will Teach A Rap Course At MIT

Lupe Fiasco confirms that he will be teaching a rap course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The rapper announced the intention in a tweet with few information provided.

“I been holding this for a while. I’ll put together something more sophisticated later that really captures the nuance and gravity but for now I’ll just say it straight and raw: I’m going to teach Rap at @MIT,” Fiasco shared in the tweet.

According to HipHopDX, in response to a fan who accused Fiasco of assisting students in obtaining a “useless” degree, the rapper shot back in a since-deleted tweet: “Syllabus isn’t built yet but I’m thinking its fruit to be had in looking at neuromorphic computation through the lens of Rap as a lossless data compression model with a dash of energy efficiency via refining Landauer’s principle applied to cytoarchitectonics. And some rapping…”

The news comes as Fiasco prepares to release his new album, Drill Music In Zion. During a release day announcement earlier this week, he revealed the project’s cover image. The artwork is identical to that of his last album, Tetsuo & Youth. On June 24, keep an eye out for Drill Music In Zion.
