Lil Baby announced in March that he would be making his formal return to the music world in the summer, he sent fans into a frenzy, and now he’s giving them even more reason to get excited about new music on the way.
On Sunday (May 22), the Atlanta rap sensation updated his Twitter account for fans waiting for new songs. Fans may expect something in the next several months, according to Lil Baby.
“7/?/22,” Lil Baby tweeted with multiple fire emojis.
With “In A Minute,” “Right On,” and “Frozen,” Baby has steadily built up anticipation for his impending return with a bevy of loose singles for fans to burrow into. The 27-year-next old’s album will be a follow-up to My Turn, which debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200 in 2020 and earned 197,000 album-equivalent units.
When his Drip Harder sibling Gunna stated summer 2022 was his for the taking, the rapper first referenced his summer takeover. “This summers mine,” Lil Baby wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of him sitting with large heaps of cash stacked on his lap.
During Game 3 of the Grizzlies Western Conference semifinal series against the Golden State Warriors. He collaborated with Memphis Grizzlies star guard Ja Morant and Beats By Dre to premiere a new song titled “Dark Mode.” Baby shot a black-and-white video with Ja, interwoven with clips of the NBA All-Star dribbling and posing for the camera.
