Hip Hop has gained recognition as the most well-known sort of music in the United States starting around 2017. The trend doesn’t seem to be going down in any way in the nearest future. Drake who happens to be the commercial juggernaut came first on the list with an amazing 1.4 billion streams across all platforms in the first 10 weeks of the year.
What makes the accomplishment much more noteworthy is the fact that he has not released any song this year.
A large portion of that figure probably came from his blockbuster 2021 collection Certified Lover Boy, which hit various Spotify and Apple Music streaming records upon its delivery in September.
The project has gone beyond two billion streams on Spotify alone. That means it’s attempting to attain double-platinum status.
NBA YoungBoy, a young HipHop superstar is the one following Drake closely with close to 1.3 billion streams. The 22-year-old Baton Rouge local has produced two pieces of music already in 2022. First, the mixtape Colors, with a collaboration with DaBaby, “Better Than You”
