Drake “Honestly, Nevermind” Debuts At No. 1 After Selling 210K Copies In It’s First Week Of Release

Drake’s albums have always debuted at number one, and his most recent release, Honestly, Nevermind, is no exception. Champagne Papi was predicted to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart last weekend, and this past weekend, it actually did.

Despite the criticism and outrage the father of one had upon the publication of his work, a tweet from @chartdata indicated that during its first week out, the nearly featureless record sold 210K equivalent album copies (it was initially predicted to move anywhere from that to 230K).

Other notable performances included those by Harry Styles with his new Harry’s House project (78K), San Benito (121K), and BTS on their final joint album before going on sabbatical to concentrate on solo projects (77K).

Additionally, Future (50K), Post Malone (44K), Kevin Gates‘ Khaza (38K), Kendrick Lamar (35K), and finally Logic (29K) all had strong earnings reports.

HipHopDX points out that even though the Canadian won again, his sales of Honestly, Nevermind were far lower than those of 2021’s Certified Lover Boy, which brought in a respectable 613K.

The same was true of Chris Brown; however, Breezy’s first week sales forecasts are far lower than what he made when releasing Indigo years ago, and it has been highlighted that he isn’t likely to launch at number one this time around.

Chris Brown Claims He’d Be Willing To Engage In A Verzuz Battle With Usher And Talks About Challenging Drake

Verzuz TV is a platform that lets musicians compete against their most well-known records of all time. It was developed at the height of the coronavirus pandemic. The show has swiftly become as one of the most popular and talked-about forms of entertainment on the internet, consistently averaging one million viewers during each battle.

Mario and Omarion, two of R&B’s hottest performers, recently competed against one another. Due to all the shenanigans performed during the concert, people are still talking about the event and it is starting some new conversations.

Chris Brown was a guest on the most recent edition of Drink Champs, and the host asked him how he’d feel about competing in the Verzuz ring. “They want me to do it with Usher,” the native Virginian explained to the hosts, “It only makes sense, but it’s got to make more sense.” The musician continued by saying that, in the event of a fight, he and Usher should both receive equal praise.

“I can’t act like he ain’t a pioneer as well– that’s Usher,” he said. He added that there are too many songs to select from, but it would be something the audience would appreciate.

Along with competing against the “Nice & Slow” artist, a one-on-one matchup with Canadian rapper Drake was also discussed. “That would be a formidable champ,” Breezy said, “but you gotta think, when we go back to genres, you know what the consensus was? ’Nah, they don’t do the same music.”

French Montana Explains How He Helped Drake And Diddy Settle Their Dispute

French Montana’s Montega is just one of the numerous brand-new releases to hit streaming services this New Music Friday. The rapper, who was born in Morocco, traveled to New York City for an interview on The Breakfast Club to mark the release of his album. During the interview, he opened up about everything from his role in putting an end to the beef between Drake and Diddy to his most recent remarks regarding “the Kardashian curse.”

Drake and Puff are back after that little beef, the 37-year-old raps on the album’s opening track, “Blue Chills,” causing several of the hosts to ask him to elaborate. “I think it was something going on, I didn’t really know the exact details of it,” he said.

“But I know I had a birthday party that Iggy Azalea threw for me on a boat, and when I got there, Drake was there waiting for me,” adding that Sean Combs arrived on his own “little boat.”. “That was the first time they met after they was going through they beef.”

When Drizzy and Diddy allegedly got into a confrontation at DJ Khaled’s birthday party in 2014, Puff allegedly accused the Canadian of “stealing” the beat for his popular “0-100” song. According to Complex, this argument was settled over the phone in 2015.

French Montana On How He Helped Drake And Diddy Settle Their Dispute

French Montana said he informed Combs at the aforementioned party that he and Drake “[needed] to dead” their beef because they are both close friends of his.

“I’m glad they didn’t even know each other was coming to the party. When they came, they just spent the whole night talking to each other… I didn’t tell Drake Puff was gonna be there, and I didn’t tell Puff Drake was gonna be there… They was good friends before that, so when they got there they just spoke the whole night. And I’m like, ‘You see? Y’all was best friends to start with.”

Charlamagne Tha God Compares Drake’s New Album to Elevator Music

Drake stunned his fans by dropping a fresh new album, Honestly, Nevermind. This is Drake’s seventh full-length studio album, and there was a lot of expectation for what was to follow when it was released yesterday evening. Drake even referred to the record as a summer album, which piqued fans’ interest in the sounds to come.

In the end, Drake released a house, EDM, and dancehall-inspired album that disappointed many fans. The response to the new project has been overwhelmingly negative, with some supporting the new sound and others just refusing to give it a chance.

All of the major radio shows, including The Breakfast Club, have talked about the project this morning. This prompted Charlamagne Tha God to share his unfiltered thoughts on the album, and as you can see, he couldn’t help himself from cracking jokes. In fact, this album was compared to elevator music by the radio legend.

“I don’t mind the vibes you know the vibes to me are the vibes you hear when you’re at a Beverley Hills luxury hotel,” Charlamagne stated. “This is lobby, elevator music. This is the vibes when you sitting in the lobby of the SLS hotel having some drinks on a leather couch with the lights dimly lit. You got a suit on, no tie, first couple of buttons on your shirt open, some slippers on, loafers no socks. I’m never going to revisit the album again but if it comes on when I’m in the lobby of a luxury hotel, I’m not mad at it.”

Lil Yachty Reveals How Drake Wrote His “Churchill Downs” Verse In Just 11 Minutes

Lil Yachty says that Drake recorded his verse on Jack Harlow’s “Churchill Downs” in under 11 minutes. The song is on Harlow’s most recent album, Come Home The Kids Miss You, and many Drake fans consider it to be some of his best work in years.

During an Off The Record Podcast discussion with DJ Akademiks, Yachty divulged the information. He added that the entire verse was in front of Harlow while they were on a trip together “out there in the islands.”

While the song has received a lot of positive feedback, PETA has called out Harlow and Drake for their support of the Kentucky Derby and requested them to donate the song’s revenues to racehorses. The two rappers may be seen hanging out at the Kentucky Derby in a music video for the tune.

Harlow informed The 85 South Comedy Show after the event that Drake had lost money by picking the wrong horses.

“I just told Drake I would bet what he bet, so I copied him,” Harlow said.

Regardless, he had a nice time: “There’s no price on meeting someone who taught you how to do it and having them say, ‘Yo, you’re dope,'” he said.

Drake Cheers On J. Cole At The Shooting Stars’ CEBL Game

Drake was present at tonight’s Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) game between the Scarborough Shooting Stars and the Hamilton Honey Badgers, where J. Cole was a member of the Shooting Stars. The Toronto rapper wore Cole’s No. 15 jersey while sitting courtside.

The Honey Badgers were able to maintain their dominance throughout the game, winning 84-69 over the Shooting Stars.

Cole joined the Shooting Stars in May following a year with the Rwanda Patriots of the Basketball Africa League. Cole was apparently placed in touch with the correct people to test out for the Shooting Stars by Drake, whose OVO partner Nicholas “Niko” Carino controls the squad.

Cole’s presence on the floor, according to Shooting Stars vice president Jamaal Magloire, is attributable not only to his celebrity, but also to his talent and work ethic.

“He just wants to be treated the same, which I thought was very admirable because he is a very special individual,” Magloire said, per Complex. “As far as the talent that he has, he’s played this game at a professional level in Africa, so, this is his second stint. We’re bringing him in here to play, contribute, and help us win games. That’s his goal as well. It’s gonna be fun and something that is great for the city of Scarborough and Toronto.”

Drake Pays Tribute To Sidhu Moose Wala, An Indian Rapper

Drake pays tribute to Sidhu Moose Wala, an Indian rapper and politician who was shot and killed over the weekend.

After being shot in the Mansa district, one of India’s most well-known rappers died last week. Sidhu Moose Wala, 28, was shot and died in his homeland of Punjab, according to rolling stone. On Sunday, videos and photographs of the murder scene leaked, showing him sitting in an SUV while people tried to resuscitate him. Moose Wala’s automobile was hit with at least 30 rounds of bullets, according to Punjab’s chief of police, VK Bhawra. Bhawra further alleged that Moose Wala’s death was the result of a gang feud.

Moose Wala was born in India but relocated to Brampton, Ontario, a suburb near Toronto, after graduating from university with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. On Sunday night, many Toronto artists, including Drake, paid tribute to Moose Wala. “RIP MOOSE,” wrote Toronto’s hometown hero with a photo of the murdered artist and his mother.

Sidhu Moose Wala became a leader of Congress in 2021, in addition to pursuing a promising musical career. In a Facebook post, Goldy Brar, a mobster stationed in Canada, claimed responsibility for Moose Wala’s death as retaliation for Vikramjit Singh Middukhera and Gurlal Brar. His death, however, was a political assassination by the Punjab Congress. Just one day before Sidhu Moose Wala’s murder, Punjab police removed the security of 424 politicians, including him.

Drake Won $17 Million While Playing Roulette When Lil Baby Walked In

Drake has a lot of luck when it comes to gambling, but one of his most recent and greatest wins may be credited to Lil Baby.

The OVO singer livestreamed himself playing roulette last week as part of a giveaway event with online casino platform Stake, in which he shared his winnings with fans all over the world.

Drake won $17.9 million on a single roulette bet at one point during the high-stakes session. Lil Baby casually walked into the room just as the Toronto native and his friends were erupting in laughter.

“You know why that happened?” Drake remarked this as he basked in the glory of his big win. “Because Baby walked in! That’s why.”

Drake’s lucky charm, Lil Baby, was much more than that. Aubrey mentioned during the Stake webcast that he was in the studio at his enormous Toronto estate working on a new collaboration.

“By the way, my brother Lil Baby’s in the studio right now. He’s cooking up, we’re working,” Drake told viewers. “But he’s gonna come and do some spins with us tonight too.”

Following “Wants and Needs,” “Girls Want Girls,” “Yes Indeed,” and “Never Recover,” the untitled single will join a growing line of Drake and Lil Baby collaborations that have all charted in the top 20 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Drake And NBA Fights For The Most Streamed Artist Of 2022

Drake And NBA YoungBoy Fights For The Most Streamed Artist Of 2022

Drake And NBA YoungBoy Fights For The Most Streamed Artist Of 2022

Drake and NBA YoungBoy have long dominated streaming services, often ranking among the most streamed artists year after year. When it comes to mass consumption of their music, the two guys are once again neck and neck, according to Chart Data.

Drake and YoungBoy currently hold the top two rankings in terms of most-streamed acts in music in 2022. Drizzy presently has 200 million more streams than YoungBoy, at three billion compared to 2.8 billion. Several Hip Hop and R&B superstars, including The Weeknd at two billion streams, Kanye West at 1.9 billion, Lil Durk at 1.7 billion, Eminem at 1.5 billion, and Future at 1.5 billion, are tied for fourth place with 2.2 billion streams so far this year.

Hip Hop has been the most popular music on streaming platforms since 2017, and Drake and YoungBoy have only cemented their position. Drizzy already racked up 1.4 billion streams when Chart Data computed total streams for artists through the first two months of the year. YoungBoy came in second with 1.3 billion streams over the 10-week span, but other major talents like Kodak Black and Rod Wave haven’t maintained the same level of fan engagement.

YoungBoy surpassed J. Cole and Future in terms of certifications with 71 in February, according to the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Despite being at odds with his label home, Atlantic Records, YoungBoy flaunted the outcome of his hard work on Instagram in the months following the RIAA’s initial declaration.
