Drake Confesses To Lil Wayne His Disappointment Over Not Singing “Mrs. Officer” At Lil Weezyana Fest

Drake was disappointed that Weezy didn’t invite him out for “Mrs. Officer” when he played at Lil Wayne‘s Lil Weezyana Fest in New Orleans over the weekend.

Drizzy expressed disappointment to the crowd during his unexpected presence at the festival as he was to sing Bobby V.’s part on Wayne’s 2008 Tha Carter III song. He said that early in his career, Wayne would ask him to sing the chorus on stage.

“I wanna say one more fucking thing because I was a little thrown off tonight,” Drake said as Lil Wayne watched on while standing next to him on the stage. “‘Because you know, back in the day before I was Drake, I was Aubrey off Degrassi, right?

“And I used to be standing side stage and when ‘Mrs. Officer’ came on, Lil Wayne used to call me on stage to sing Bobby’s part and he used to call me Jimmy Valentino. I feel like I should have sang ‘Mrs. Officer’ tonight, I’m just saying.”

Following that, Drake led the crowd in singing along with him as he sang the “Mrs. Officer” chorus.

“It’s just like old times,” Drake commented before departing the stage. “New Orleans, I love you. Lil Wayne, thank you, my brother. I don’t even know what else to say to you. I love you so much, man. I appreciate you.”

Lil Wayne traveled back to New Orleans for his sixth annual Lil Weezyana Fest, which had been postponed from August. But Wayne delivered a two-hour concert that included a surprise visit from Drake, making the wait worthwhile.

Drake opened his 18-minute concert with “She Will,” a 2011 Weezy collaboration. Before moving on to his solo singles like “God’s Plan,” “In My Feelings,” “Nonstop,” and “Jimmy Cooks,” he followed with “The Motto.”

He paid respect to the “GOAT” who put him on and to New Orleans. It’s a privilege to be back in one of the few cities that had a significant impact on my artistic career, he remarked. “I don’t think I would ever be where I was without New Orleans and I definitely know I would not be anywhere in this fu**ing life without the greatest rap artist of all time that’s right there on stage behind me,” the performer said.

Additionally, he recalled playing Bobby Valentino’s role on “Mrs. Officer” when touring with Wayne. He concluded by singing an acapella version of a Tha Carter III song. Drake, who portrayed Jimmy Brooks on “Degrassi,” recalled that Lil Wayne used to ask him on stage to sing Bobby’s portion and refer to him as Jimmy Valentino. It is just as it was in the past.

He made sure to give his mentor one last act of affection before departing. “Thank you, my brother, Lil Wayne. I am at a loss for words with you. You have my utmost love.

Lil Wayne Hails Jay-Z As The Greatest Rapper Of All Time

Lil Wayne recently spoke with former NFL player Marcellus Wiley during an episode of the podcast “More To It.” Weezy was asked on the program who the greatest rapper of all time was, and he was informed he couldn’t name himself.

“I’m sorry, Notorious B.I.G., you said all time. I retract that. ” He then compared Hov to Tom Brady before declaring Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter to be the greatest rapper of all time.

Since his most recent verse on DJ Khaled’s album “God Did,” Hov has been hailed as one of the greatest rappers of all time. In a recent interview on Complex Bracket, Joe Budden chose Jay-Z over Kendrick Lamar as the greatest rapper alive.

Last month, Offset also said the same about “The Blueprint” rapper. “I gotta say Hov,” he said, referring to being his GOAT rapper. “All his sh*t is platinum.” So, you know, sometimes success is the reason why people say he’s the greatest of all time rapping. What he did after rapping You can’t play Rap with him…You haven’t played with him since the beginning of time. He always had the biggest records; he always got the biggest people and did the biggest records; and he still comes back and makes impactful records right now. “

The remaining members of Lil Wayne’s top five at the moment were JAY-Z (“The finest to ever even speak”)), Biggie, Goodie Mob, and UGK. Wayne also listed them. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comment section.

Antonio Brown Is Charged With Theft In Lil Wayne’s Name

Antonio Brown, a former NFL player, conned him out of $500,000 by claiming it was for Lil’ Wayne according to a Florida music promoter,

The case, which was reportedly filed on October 6th in Sarasota County Circuit Court, alleges that Brown misappropriated Weezy’s name to obtain a $100,000 contract. Brown allegedly violated a “exclusive artist agreement” between the two companies, according to the complaint.

It also claims that Brown made a $160,000 sale to Ryan Kane, the business’s owner, on a bogus expensive watch.

The lawsuits also claim that Antonio Brown threatened multiple STB executives with vulgar remarks of a sexual and racial character and that he scammed Secure the Bag Entertainment of $175,000 in fictitious expenses.

The costs for Brown’s entourage to fly on a private plane and for renting a Los Angeles recording studio for five hours total $87,000.

The issue arose when the business declined to cover those costs.

Kane declared that he views Antonio Brown as nothing more than a “thief and a liar.” To join with his label, Kane allegedly paid Brown a $150,000 advance with the expectation that Brown would film a music video to promote the song “Cracked,” which he co-wrote with Lil Wayne.

Then, according to Kane, he was told that Lil’ Wayne wanted to be paid “$250,000 in cash,” and Brown would take care of Wayne’s payment. The situation heated up when Brown allegedly threatened Kane with “the check better be good,”

Drake Says The Young Money Reunion Has Been Postponed Following A Positive COVID-19 Test

The eagerly anticipated Young Money reunion in Toronto appears to be postponed from its originally planned date of August 1st. After testing positive for COVID-19, Drake said that his Toronto party with Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj will be postponed. The rapper said he would reschedule the festival as soon as his test came back clean, though he hasn’t said when that may be.

“I am truly devastated to say that I tested positive for COVID and the Young Money reunion show scheduled for tonight is being rescheduled to the SOONEST date possible. I will keep the city posted and share the new date whenever we have it locked. Until then I hope everyone stays safe and healthy and I love you all I am so sorry for letting you down on our weekend together and the moment I test negative I will give you everything I got on stage (except the COVID),” he stated.

The All Canadian North Stars concert, which featured classic hip-hop and R&B performers who helped establish Canada’s music culture, served as the opening act for the rapper’s OVO Fest on Thursday. The OVO Fest lineup on Friday includes Chris Brown and Lil Baby’s One Of Them Ones concert in Toronto.

Jack Harlow Features Lil Wayne And Brandy For The BET Awards Performance

Lil Wayne and Brandy joined Jack Harlow for performances of his smash songs “Poison” and “First Class” at the BET Awards on Sunday night. On Harlow’s most recent album, Come Home The Kids Miss You, the two songs are included.

Background dancers joined Harlow on stage to perform “Poison” to open the concert. Wayne entered the stage to continue where Harlow left off as Wayne’s verse began. “First Class” was then played before Brandy took the stage to perform the song’s remix. In the audience, Ray J could be seen beaming with excitement.

Harlow’s collaboration with Brandy comes after the “What’s Poppin” rapper admitted earlier this year during an interview with Hot 97 that he was unaware that Brandy and Ray J were related.

To support his “Industry Baby” co-star, Harlow wore a Lil Nas X shirt earlier in the evening on the red carpet. Nas publicly criticized the BET Awards as the network failed to recognize his hugely hit single with Harlow, despite it being one of the year’s most popular songs.

Harlow has already shown his support for Nas. He referred to the rapper as a “hero” earlier this year.

Fat Joe Admits Lil Wayne Is The Best Artist He's Seen In The Studio

Fat Joe Admits Lil Wayne Is The Best Artist He’s Seen In The Studio

When asked who they think is the best at anything, artists never want to appear as if they’re picking one of their colleagues above the other. However, Fat Joe took a chance during his recent appearance on The Shop: Uninterrupted. Along with guests Don Lemon and Amy Schumer, as well as the show’s writers, the rapper paid a visit to the HBO series. Joe isn’t afraid to express himself, so he was asked who he believed were the greatest of the artists he’s seen in the studio.

“I don’t want nobody to kill me, but the best…Lil Wayne,” he stated without hesitation. “Wayne taught me so, what happens is, Lil Wayne took up from where Tupac was, he was putting out two albums a year. This guy was never in the club, he was the No. 1 artist in the world.”

“He was just in that studio, in that hit factory, in that studio,” Joe added. “So, I was privy to being there with Wayne ’cause I live in Miami and this guy, he would just get a beat, and the guy starts sparing with the speaker.” It was something the Bronx rapper had never seen before. Someone asked him to explain what that meant.

“He’s in a little room and there’s big, giant speakers, and he’s just there like, staring at the speaker,” Joe stated. “He goes in the booth, ‘I am a beast, feed me Hip Hop, feed me…’ I was like holy f*ck. This guy took the record. He’s a beast!”

Roddy Ricch Arrested For Weapons Possession Prior To The Governors Ball Show

Roddy Ricch Arrested For Weapons Possession Prior To The Governors Ball Show

Roddy Ricch did not attend the Governors Ball on Saturday (June 11) as planned. Instead, he was reportedly arrested on weapons possession charges just hours before his performance.

Roddy and his group were stopped at a CITI Field security checkpoint, according to TMZ. Authorities uncovered a loaded pistol, nine rounds of ammo, and a big magazine when searching the vehicle.

Governors Ball responded with a tweet that stated, “Unfortunately Roddy Ricch is no longer performing today.”

Roddy and two other people were eventually detained and charged with four charges of criminal weapon possession, possession of a large capacity ammo feeding mechanism, and unauthorized possession of that equipment.

The arrest is yet another low moment in rap’s relationship with law enforcement, especially in New York during festival season. Fetty Wap was jailed on federal narcotics charges prior to his appearance at Rolling Loud New York last year. Five New York rappers, including the late Pop Smoke, Sheff G, Casanova, Don Q, and 22GZ, were barred from playing at Rolling Loud New York in 2019.

Governors Ball has been scrambling to find acts to perform in recent weeks. Due to “circumstances beyond [their] control,” Migos announced on Tuesday (June 7) that they will no longer be performing at the event.

Lil Wayne was supposed to take Migos’ position on the list, but due to a “flight disruption,” he couldn’t perform on Friday (June 10) and was replaced by A$AP Ferg.

Lil Wayne Googles His Own Lyrics While Performing A Song From The Album "Tha Carter 2"

Lil Wayne Googles His Own Lyrics While Performing A Song From The Album “Tha Carter 2”

Lil Wayne has one of the most extensive music archives in hip-hop, and with so many tracks to choose from, it’s easy to forget some of the old lyrics. Tunechi had a similar experience when he had to seek for his own lyrics during a restaurant performance.

Wayne was joined by Robin Thicke for a performance of their song “Shooter,” which was released in 2005 on the album “Tha Carter 2.” The Canadian singer nailed his part, but the Young Money leader had to look up his part on the internet while playing in front of the crowd, which included 2 Chainz, Mack Maine, and others.

In a recent interview with Eminem on Young Money Radio, the “A Milli” rapper said that he frequently Googles his lyrics in case he forgets them. “Man I literally broke when I’m doing something my sh*t. If you go through my phone history, my Google history, and you press “l”, first thing gonna come up is “Lil Wayne lyrics”. I literally have to Google my lyrics to make sure I didn’t say something before,” he stated.

Lil Wayne Will Take The Place Of Migos For The 2022 Governors Ball

Lil Wayne Will Take The Place Of Migos For The 2022 Governors Ball

The Migos have been dropped off the Governors Ball 2022 roster, and Lil Wayne will take their place, the event revealed on social media on Tuesday. The swap was done mere days before the festival’s debut date.

“Due to circumstances out of our control Migos are no longer performing at Gov Ball,” before adding in another post, a tweet from the festival’s account wrote, “@LilTunechi will be playing the GOVBALLNYC Stage on Friday, June 10th at 6:30pm!”

While the event did not provide an explanation for the Migos’ absence, some speculated that it was a sign that the famed Atlanta group was parting up.

“Gov ball just confirmed the migos break up fml,” a fan replied.

After Quavo and Takeoff released the tune “Hotel Lobby” together without Offset, rumors of a breakup among the three rappers have been spreading for weeks. DJ Akademiks recently stated that he has spoken with Offset. But he does not expect the feud to get to the point of a total breakup.

Ak informed TMZ in May that he “actually spoke to Offset just the other day, and while there might be some tense feelings, he doesn’t think any ‘beef’ will escalate to a full-scale split.”

Wayne will now play on Friday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m. From June 10 to 12, the festival will take place. Kid Cudi, Halsey, and J. Cole will be among the event’s headliners.
