SAD: Actor Granville Adams Dies At Age 58!
After a lengthy cancer battle, “Oz” star Granville Adams passes away at the age of 58.
Granville Adams, the actor who portrayed Oz on HBO’s Oz, died of cancer.
Granville Adams, the actor in question, has passed away.
He is best recognized for his recurring part as Zahir Arif in HBO’s “Oz,”.
This was announced by his co-star, Kirk Acevedo, who said,
“I lost my brotha today after a long battle with cancer. I don’t do well with loss because I’m unfamiliar with it.”
“Yo Grany well be chopping it up on the other side one day. Until then…Rest easy my friend.”
It was almost a year ago that Granville Adams posted a photo of himself in a hospital bed, with the message, “F*** CANCER!”
His “Oz” family, however, sprang into action when he posted that statement and photo to his social media profile.
With expenses mounting, it was necessary to establish a GoFundMe page on his behalf to assist with his growing medical expenditures. More than $100 thousand dollars was raised in donations.
Aside from the 48 episodes of “Oz,” he has starred in a number of TV shows, including as Officer Jeff Westby on NBC’s Homicide: Life on the Street.
He was survived by his wife, Christina.
